An update on perspective...

Celtics, 5 1/2 games from the Heat for first place in the Eastern Conference.

Lakers, 5 games from Portland for the eighth place in the Western Conference.

:)
true, but Boston is still the 8th seed at the moment, which is definitely not the place to be as that all but assures a 1st round exit at the hands of the Heat.

Good thing we have 47 games left  ;D

Im an optimist but im thinking we do a little better these next 47 than we did the first 35

It's possible we could get as high as the #2 seed if things fall almost completely in our favor but I just don't see anyone taking the top spot from Miami.  If anyone became a serious threat to that spot, I have no doubt Miami would get it together quickly to wrap that up.  (and if that fails, watch how lopsided the officiating gets in their games)

For me the sooner we face the heat the better

I 100% endorse this statement

Yep the Knicks, Pacer, Nets  don't look as imtimidating , now that the Celtics are back to full strenght.

We we win tonight , I'm thinking the momentum definelty swings the Celtics way.

If Fab can help in a few months , we 're gonna be OK.

We need better rebounding, in spite of what the Doctor says (he must be a quack if he thinks we can win without being better on the backboards).  This team will only make the playoffs because the gulf between the 9th and 10th+ teams in the Eastern Conference is DREADFUL.

The Heat are also a bad rebounding team. Just sayin'

SO when DO we play the heat again?  For me, I'd like at least a few more weeks to get even better.  Having Wilcox back wouldn't hurt either.

I don't mind facing the Heat, in many regards, this team is built to beat them, as long as Bradley and Lee are both playing and healthy.

Last year, our big spark was Avery Bradley.  Hopefully that's the case this year, as well.

Apparently, Avery Bradley has such energy and passion on defense he alone can spark the rest of the team to play aggressively also.

That is crazy to think about.  On one hand, it really speaks to the special defensive talent Avery has.  It doesn't really speak too well about some of the other guys, though.  Really, you need a 3rd year player to spark you?  Ugh.

It does also seem the guard rotation "fits" much better now  as well.  Dude really is a "glue" guy.

We do still need a C to either start next to, or back-up, KG (if for nothing else, to get the rotation right).  I'd like to see Bass moved, which is kind of funny.  I've come back full circle to my original position this summer.  The team can probably contend, but needs one more solid big who is 6'10"-7'.

Avery Bradley really is special.

Whatever it takes, that's my opinion. If some young guy showing you up is what gets you motivated, so be it. Not everyone has to be KG.

It does seem that is what has happened.  All of a sudden, Green, Lee, Terry, Bass & even Rondo and Pierce have picked it up.  Maybe a little embarrassed?

I would not be surprised, though, if some of these guys have been sand bagging a little, waiting until Avery came back.

I'd say that JET and Rondo were probably sand bagging based on the significant improvement in their D in the past 4 games.  JET especially.  Up til now, I thought he was a complete waste on that end of the court but now, whoa, who knew who could actually stay in front of someone

edit: funny I didn't realize d Bag was a blocked word until sand bagging came up with asterisks when the words were put together.  learn something new every day

  • It's what I do! It's who I am!
I can't explain the Bradley factor. Undersized sg's aren't suppose to change a team like this....esp one who is in his early 20s and doesn't have much of a offensive game.

It's a trap
