This is the current state of the Eastern Conference:
1. Miami
2. New York
3. Atlanta
4. Chicago
5. Indiana
6. Milwaukee
7. Brooklyn 16-14
8. Boston 14-16
_____
9. Philadelphia 14-17

We're worse than teams currently at 1-7, and once Bynum gets back, Philly will get a better record than us. Not sure how this team can even make the playoffs. And if this the case, then we are at the position no team ever wants to be in -- not good and not excessively bad. Either we make a trade for a game changing player or we blow it up and tank for Noel or Muhammad. Thoughts?

I see the Hawks and the Bucks slowing down. As for the 76ers Bynum might not even get to play this season. In the C's case Ainge needs to make some moves.

Boston will make the playoffs, and turn it around here in a bit.

I'll have to curtail my "change" talk a bit, though...last time BOS made a "Big" trade was 2010-11, with Perkins. It then took BOS the remainder of the season, including Playoffs, to get everyone acclimated.

I hope that "change" this team needs is AB coming back, because if BOS has to go through another big trade again, perhaps the window has closed.

Sadly I think we will squeak in. Being a middling team in the NBA is a fate worse than death. We will most likely be the seven or eighth seed. Bummer.

Other than Avery Bradley coming back, what have you seen this year that makes you think they are going to turn it around? They have lost 6 out of their last 8, and a majority of those games have been absolute (sleep) train wrecks. What is sparking your optimism? (and please don't tell me about last year)

Not worried about playoffs we'll make it, but it may be a very early exit if something doesn't change for the better

Yep...I think if there is anyway to Get Cousins, you gotta do it...mkae the best of the rest of the season and rebuild around Cousins with KG to mentor him.

for me a lesser option is to get Varejao and see how far we can gointo the playoffs.  But he is no future to build around.

Getting Gortat is a "FEEL GOOD" patch plan that wins a few games but utlimately he is not a STAR and willcost TOO many decent player to make it worth the effort in the long run.

I don't think Josh Smith is gonna leave Atlanta.

Frankly it looks very bleak, and the Lottery may be in the cards for the Celtics

This team doesn't deserve to make the playoffs, and I think it would be better—if they're going to remain this bad—to miss the playoffs and hope for the best in the lottery.
