One of the few records (along with Wilt's 100) that will probably stand "forever". Sure, they kept Skiles in the game, but why wouldn't/shouldn't they? He had a chance to be a huge part of NBA history and he is.

30 assists is easier to get than 100 points.  I could see Rondo getting 30 some game, for example, especially if he has one of those first quarters where he drops 9 or 10 dimes.

Of course but that wasn't my point.

Well why did you try to compare it to Wilt's 100 point game then?  The next highest total is 29 assists. Ramon Sessions came within six assists of tying it.

It's not in the same league as  Wilt's 100 points.

Where did I compare the two? I just used Wilt as an example of a single sports performance that will be hard but not impossible to beat. Some day someone may score more than Wilt and someone just may dish out the ball better than Skiles. Until then...

And all he said was that record will be harder to beat.

20 or more assists have been recorded 122 times in the last 25 years.  Only once has someone scored over 75 in that time.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

That looks like a comparison to me.  Agree to disagree, I guess.

I also disagree that Skiles 30 assists will stand "forever."

I do think that Wilt's 100 points will.

Yeah, I think the 30 assists record will be broken too.

I guess you're right. Still, 30 assists is an amazing tally. Good on ya, Mr. Skiles.
