rondo is un-tradable. I believe ainge said this in an interview once.

Except for Chris Paul
Well I mean... literally just a year ago we tried to trade Rondo for Steph Curry, but Golden State turned us down according to ESPN:

"In December, the Celtics had discussions with Golden State about a Stephen Curry-for-Rondo deal, and one source says it was Golden State that decided against pulling the trigger. But Curry's recent ankle injuries, which have caused him several problems in his short career, have given the Celtics pause."

http://espn.go.com/boston/nba/story/_/id/7631850/sources-boston-celtics-aggressively-trying-trade-guard-rajon-rondo

At the time it would have made a lot of sense for Boston, because we were heading into supposedly a huge free agent class with a ton of cap room and the possibility of KG/Pierce retiring and Ray walking was high... Curry was still on his rookie contract and would have give us like 41 million in cap space to go nuts.

Then of course there were strong rumors we tried moving him for Pau Gasol...

Rondo isn't untradable... but pretty unlikely we move him.

Maybe Rondo sat so we could showcase Courtney Lee... probably our last chance to dump 40 minutes on the trade chip now that Bradley is coming back.

On CelticsLife.com someone claims to have a brother working for the Kings and posted following trade: ''Detroit is the 3rd team. Rondo and Melo to the Kings. Cousins to Detroit. Evans and a Detroit center to the Celtics. Either Monroe or Drummond. Hasn't been decided yet. Also about 4 other lesser guys are in the trade for cap reasons. NOT DONE YET. Could fall apart still.'' I like the idea of getting Monroe or Drummond, but would HATE to give up Rondo in this deal.

Haha that's laughable to me. Giving up an all star for and underperformer and an in proven center?? Monroe would be great to have but alongside rondo.

I wouldn't give up on Melo just yet. Defensive specialist at Center are hard to come by. And why Detriot big as opposed to Cousins? I'm assuming it Greg Monroe here. Monroe+Tyreke for Rondo; if that was the case trading Melo isn't very wise. Monroe is more of a power-forward than Center. TP nonetheless

There is no way in hell I give up Rondo for Monroe (and Tyreke).

Hypothetically speaking that is a great package for Rondo. A dynamic player in Tyreke and a potential all-star big man in Monroe. Much better package than Orlando got for DWIGHT HOWARD. Pierce and Garnett finally get some scoring help.

Tyreke
Bradley
Pierce
Garnett
Monroe

Vs.

Chamlers
Wade
Lebron
Haslem
Bosh

I just like overall balance of team. Maybe I'm being naive, but I like the chances of that team beating Miami than current one.

Monroe works in the proposed trade, Drummond doesn't (salary-wise).

I think I'd rather have Drummond though...

Either way, there had better be picks coming to Boston if Rondo is headed out.

I don't know man, that is a pretty good return if you can get Evans and Drummond or Monroe while keeping Bradley

PG:Bradley
SG:Evans
SF:PP
PF:KG or Monroe
 C: Drummond or KG

I would only do it if we don't make a run after Bradley comes back and the c's hover around 500 til the trade deadline.

Backup PG, anyone?

Excellent. Will Bynum is type of player that can single-handedly win you couple of games in the playoffs.

Backup PG, anyone?

Or, if you want Drummond

http://i.imgur.com/m7ceg.png

Works either way. Celtics will be happy with either raw beastmode Drummond, or developed Monroe. If Celtics are greedy, any chance of getting both? No...ok I'll settle for either one.

edit: Keep Lee though. Celtics need a quality backup in case Avery shoulders flare up.
