  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Just kidding.

Step back from the ledge, remember seasons gone by and have a little faith.
On paper we are a much better team than last year.
We're not even half way yet.
Remind you much of last year? Or the year before?
A trade is possibly coming, depending on the next 5-6 games, and if not a trade, we are at least adding some size.

It's all part of the roller coaster that is being a Celtics fan.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

TP for the humor.  This team just doesn't match up well with the Clippers and the Warriors of the world right now.  Not surprised they lost both games.

IF you wanna accept mediocrity and an 8th seed, early round exit, then sure, why not.  We havent even been able to string together a decent winning streak, which most teams have to this point.  With this much "talent"  there is something glaringly wrong.

Seasons gone by? Our last title was almost half a decade ago.

I had faith in them when I bet all my tommy points on a game 7 Celtics win in 2010, not happening again for the forseeable future.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

22 NBA teams haven't won a title in more than 30 years, if ever.

The NBA actually sucks. Way over exposed. More than half the teams barely making money.

I have faith, but only because avery bradley isn't back yet and because i assume danny will pull the trigger on a trade. This team as currently constructed *Minus bradley* I have no faith in what so ever as far as doing anything this year.

Just out of curiosity, why do you watch it, then?

I don't care if people are pessimistic about this team's chances, because they have been playing so terribly this season. What I don't understand are the people who seem to take a strange glee in freaking out over losses and complaining about how the NBA sucks, the NBA is rigged, or whatever. If it really bothers you so much, why do you watch it at all? I don't mean this as an insult or an attack, I am actually curious.

I mean, I am a die-hard C's fan, and I will support this team to the end. I rooted for this team through Rick Pitino and '06-'07. This season is more frustrating in the sense that we really should be better than we are, but it is what it is. I just take such joy in both basketball as a sport and the Celtics as my team that even when things are terrible like this I can always enjoy the ride and the season.

It just confuses me because there are people on these forums I have literally never seen say anything positive (I am not singling you out, this is a general comment that your statement just reminded me of). All they ever seem to do is complain about the NBA and that it is a terrible star-driven league with terrible refs and its rigged and yadda yadda yadda, or that Boston sucks Rondo sucks Doc sucks Danny sucks everything sucks, and I just don't understand why they watch it at all? If it genuinely does not give you enjoyment and the only thing you can ever say is how the entire thing is terrible, why trouble yourself with watching it?
