TRADE 1
BOS trades: Bradley, Sullinger, Melo
SAC trades: Cousins

TRADE 2
BOS trades: Lee, Melo, pick
PHX trades: Gortat

TRADE 3
BOS trades: Green, Bass
CLE trades: Varejao, Walton

We aren't going to make the playoffs let alone make a deep run without another quality big. Also Josh Smith isn't leaving Atlanta.

Trade 1: I guarantee Sac is gonna wanns send out one of their longterm contracts with Cousins.

Trade 2: Maybe, but I don't know if Gortat is going to help as much as others do.

Trade 3: Cleveland hangs up and refuses to take any future phone calls from Danny Ainge. There's about $60m committed to Green/Bass collectively, and they're worth about half that.

In close games, Celtics fans are an emotional mess: "We want Rondo to shoot, we don't want him to shoot, we don't know what the hell we want."

I don't doubt this. I'd be happy to include Green and take back Salmons. But then again, same problem as you mentioned for the third trade :P

We're in a pickle, admittedly, but we need to do something.

Trade 1.
Seems like every asset the Cs would be giving Sac is redundant to what they already have on roster. AB they alreay have thorton, Jimmer, Brooks and Thomas. Sully they have thompson, Robinson and hayes. just seems to me like they can find a better match.

Trade 2
Maybe but I think the Suns would need AB or Sully added to make it sweat enough. Think other teams would give up more then lee + melo and a first for a legit center

Trade 3.
It sounds like the Cavs are looking for a home run. I dont think Green and Bass are that home run. They are rumored to have offered Varejau for Love, so thats an idea what they are thinking.

Im looking at the  reaslistic bigs to trade for as

Likely

 1. Dalembert
 2. Gooden

Less likely but possible

 1. Milsap
 2. Okafor
 3. Udoh

just say no to Gooden.
Dalembert is a possibility -- hpefully for nothing more than Lee.
Milsap I think is a longshot -- would take more than we should give up.
Okafur I cold get behind -- not sure what it would realistically take
Udoh just doesn't do it for me.

Think Washington would do...

Okafor, Webster
for
Green, Bass, Melo

??

Why for Washington:
They get upgrades at starting SF, PF positions over Seraphin, Webster, and a high potential prospect.

Why for Boston:
We get one of the best defensive bigs in the NBA (Link) and a serviceable backup to Pierce.

I'm gonna pretend I'm a GM for a moment:

I think a package for Cousins would have to include one of Salmons or Garcia. I'd prefer Garica's slightly less contract. Ultimately I believe one of two packages can net Cousins + Garcia:

A.) Sully + Lee + Kris Joseph + Melo + 2013 1st + 2015 1st

B.) Bradley + Bass + Melo + Kris Joseph + 2013 1st + 2015 1st

Realistically, I think we'd need a 3rd team to facilitate.

If we do either of these trades, I think I want Pierce playing a lot more time at the 2. Otherwise, for Green to get his minutes, he'd have to be playing at the 4, and he really isn't effective there.

Assuming option B, which I prefer because Bass is garbage.

PG: Rondo, Terry
SG: Pierce, Lee, Barbosa
SF: Green, Garcia
PF: Garnett, Sullinger
C: Cousins, Collins, Wilcox

That's actually a really good-looking team.

Eh, Pierce at the 2 sends a cold a chill down my spine. For small strecthes when the matchup is favorable, its fine. But he's lost a little quickness and it'd become a more glaring problem the more time he spends there.

I actually wouldn't mind Jeff playing minutes at the 4 next to a bigger center that can rebound well like Cousins.
