I know that all these D. Cousins' trade rumors are pretty far fetched, but guess what?  I'll see your D. Cousins trade rumors, and I'll raise you one that includes J. Smith!  How you like them apples?

Here goes.

Boston gets:  Josh Smith & Demarcus Cousins

Why Celtics do this:  C's get the young bigs that it desperately needs.  A future team that includes a backcourt of Rondo, AB with a frontcourt of Cousins and Smith is quite enticing.

Sacramento gets:  Jared Sullinger, Fab Melo, Devin Harris, Brandon Bass + two 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks (Boston)

Why Sacremento does this:  (1) They get rid of a malcontent who is only damaging their locker room.  (2) A lot of people expect them to move to Seattle.  Therefore, loading up on young talent and draft choices would be a good idea for a new start.  Ainge has shown what you can do by stockpiling valuable trade chip.

Atlanta gets:  Tyreke Evans, Jeff Green, Aaron Brooks + one 1st round pick (Boston)

Why Atlanta does this:  It seems unlikely that J. Smith is going to resign with them at the end of the year.  This way they obtain two talented young players who could very much use a change of scenery.

Like I mentioned above, it is pretty unlikely that anything like this actually happens, but it's always fun to imagine the possibilities.

All input (good or bad) is welcomed.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Sacramento will probably get more for either Boogie or Reke and Atlanta does not have any reason to trade smith which how they are playing now. Then again stranger things have happened.

Sacramento would have to be going out of business for this to work. I'd say Atlanta gets pretty good value for Smith though.

in terms of value for all 3 teams, this kind of works.  it would gut the C's depth and leave them hamstrung for the future but this isn't terrible.  the downside would be getting Sac to ship out both Tyreke and Cousins as well as getting Atlanta to break up a team that seems to be working ok so far.

would need to figure out who's backing up PP with Green gone.  Lee isn't big or good enough and Joseph isn't really ready for prime time.

I'm sure he would, if they meet his demands of a max contract offer.
