saw this last week, http://www.nj.com/ledger-dalessandro/index.ssf/2012/12/dalessandro_deron_williams_holding_on_too_tight.html

then today Mark Spears uses his single line for Net's power ranks to call out Deron for posting the lowest shooting % on team USA.

ouch, maybe it isn't the system afterall, eh Deron?
hopefully he doesn't figure it out anytime soon...

  • It's what I do! It's who I am!
He's certainly struggled this year. And would anyone still trade Rondo for him? I know I wouldn't.

I guess that Deron really misses Jerry Sloan right now. He excelled while playing under his system.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

Three years ago I thought Williams was the best point guard in the league, and i also remember thinking Williams was a better player than Carmelo Anthony.  Now Williams looks like a middle of the pack point guard.  He has fallen hard and fast.

Whew, I'm not the only one... when I went to the article I immediately scrolled down to see the tats, then I scrolled up slowly to see if I had missed a link in the article that lead to pictures... I was disappointed when I actually took the time to read some of it and realized it had nothing to do with tats (I read it all and enjoyed it but at first I was disappointed)!  ;D
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

  • GOT IT!!!
He's definitely fallen off. I certainly wouldn't write him off but he's not a scary player at this time anymore.

Haha, yeah. After tonight's game, I had the same thought when seeing this topic :] Stupid, 'cuz I'd seen and read these responses before! :D

His ink *IS* proper bad too! More like ink blotches!

Anyway, he'll receive some more heat from the press after this one I guess! :)

The Nets are 40 and 65 since trading for DWill. That winning percentage comes out to a 31 and 51 team in an 82 season. A real top-of-the-league PG like Chris Paul would never lead a 52 loss team in a season, regardless of the lack of talent on the roster.

Williams is a guy who benefited by playing in a very strict, PG-centric system in Utah under Sloan.  He was a relatively efficient shooter there and a solid assist man.  With the Nets, where he was allowed to play a more freelance style, he's been a disaster, probably because he's not that talented and has some character issues.

yeah, he's not playing like he's a top 3 PG anymore.  still a good PG, but not a top tier PG.

Every game I watch him play now he comes up gimpy, limps around, or ends up holding his wrist.

I wonder if he's physically breaking down somewhat? For a PG who's always been about using his size and power against opponents that would really kill his game.

Well that and going from Sloan as a coach to lesser leaders.

Maybe he is playing bad on purpose so he can get rid of another coach!!
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin
