Doc Rivers said team will announce soon that Chris Wilcox is out at least 3-4 weeks with thumb/wrist injury.

Wilcox out w ulnar collateral sprain (right thumb) suffered in CHI gm. Doc said could be out 3-4 weeks.

Can't catch a break...

Also: Doc Rivers seems to shoot down Fab Melo as potential big man addition: “I haven’t talked to anyone that thinks he’s ready to come up yet.”

Given his weak rebounding and now time off with an injury -- late Jan, early Feb return, trade deadline around 21st, only 3-4 weeks of playing time for Wilcox post-injury to prove himself -- I think Danny needs to write off Wilcox as a rotation player on this Celtics team.

Perhaps even as a player altogether. Waive him (or trade him to dump salary) and use his roster spot on someone else. I'd still love to see Ainge add Kenyon Martin + Chris Andersen. Give the bench's interior defense a major boost.

A rather tall gentleman might be stopping here on his drive from Maine to Boston.

I agree, while he's all effort there, he's not really giving us even a little bit that would put us to a higher level. Danny should just waive him to open up a roster spot. Either call up Fab or sign somebody.

Jajuan Johnson can easily provide what Chris Wilcox does. Mediocre rebounder, alley oop target, Athletic putbacks, quick feet in transition. Hell Johnson can at least block a few shots.

agreed... definitely needs to be waived. leaving 2 Roster Spots open or save as trade chip to match salaries.

I wish the C's would take a chance on k-mart...he's still a solid defender...would be solid to pair with KG

That's too bad

I like Wilcox and thought he was one of the few bright spots with our bench. It seemed him and Rondo played well together on the court.

The Cs have luxury tax issues. They'll keep Wilcox and throw him into a trade.
