I know it sounds like a bad idea, but just want to mention it..

his defence and rebound are <= Brandon Bass, but his offensive is much better. He'll make the same money as Bass and Lee/Jet combined in the next 3 years.

If Bass + Lee/Jet can get him, will you do it?

A case can be made that Bargnani is the worst starter in the NBA, so no.

maybe, but we don't have to start him, how about push Green to start 4, and let Bargnani come off bench?

I'm not into giving up Jet, but Bass + Lee could be possible. Not the type of player that will provide you toughness, though.

He's definitely not the worst starter in the NBA.

This. He's no more than an offensive spark. I'd give Bass + fillers outside of Jet, Green and the core 3. I'm pretty sure it's going to atleast involve a first or second rounder too, i think that's fine. Say what you want about Bargs, he can still give you a scoring threat and a solid enough one on one interior defender. And if he goes off the bench, it'll be a huge help. He's trade value is at its lowest, it'll be a little easier acquiring him.

PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

I don't think Bargnani is right for this team.

The Celtics are already the worst rebounding team in the league. They can't hide a guy like Bargnani. They are also having problems with defensive effort / consistency which is another questionable area of Bargnani's game.

I think someone like Al Harrington is a cheaper option and who is more comfortable in a bench role is a better option as a stretch four for Boston.

Bargnani is painfully one dimensional in the dimension we don't need

Too injury prone isn't he? Every year he goes down for an extended amount of time for something.
The only color that matters is GREEN

Per Chad Ford:

Bargnani has been an example of a player whose team internally values him more than other teams have for years. This has been Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo's project and after years of false starts, it's pretty clear he will never live up to his promise. I don't think there's any team dying to take on his deal, but if the Raptors are willing to offer some of their young players in return, the equation may change quickly.

If Toronto is going to have to include a young piece or two as incentive to move him, I'd consider taking him in this context.

If they'd go as far as including both Davis and Ross, for example. Say, Green and Bass for Bargnani, Davis and Ross.

Doubtful the Raps would do it, but I would.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
He's exactly what we don't need. He doesn't rebound, doesn't defend, and doesn't play in the paint. He may score, but not very efficiently. Even worse he's going to make similar money as Pierce Garnett and Rondo through the remainder of his contract.

Yes. I like Bargnani. If we could get him by giving up Bass and Jet, then count me in.

He's a scoring big, which we could use.

By the way, a question to all those out there who want no part of Bargnani, Cousins, Gasol, Gortat, whoever....

You do realize our team sucks right now, right??

I feel the same way about Green. Oh wait, we're you referring to Bargnani?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Nah, the guys got no heart.
Can't play defense, can't play tough. People call Jeff Green soft, I wonder what they'd say if we got this guy matching up against other elite 3's and 4's in the league? He's very streaky with his shooting too.

He's a bit of a coward and he'd never fit in here. If you think Jeff Green is robbing us for 8 million, then this guy's on Canada's most wanted list for Grand Theft.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
