I remember a few people on here were disappointed that we didn't draft him a few years ago, and he had some stretches where he looked like a very good scorer in the NBA. He's now available and tearing it up in the D-League. We have an empty roster spot and could use bench scoring, why don't we sign him to a minimum deal?

Because CDR would add absolutely nothing to the team.

The Celtics already have superior gunners in the backcourt with Jason Terry and Leandro Barbosa. And Courtney Lee gives them a much better defensive option and is the superior two way player. Neither Lee or CDR have the size to be good options as a quick forward.

There is no role here for him to fill. I would like to see CDR to latch onto another team though. He is a solid end of bench NBA player.

If your going to sign a d-leaguer, sign Varnado. He solves an issue.

With no tongue in cheek at all, I believe you could sign him, throw him into every minute that Bass would otherwise play this season, and it would be a significant improvement to the Cs.

I would love to have Varnado in this team. But honestly, i'd rather have Fab play first. Outside of agility, I think they are quite similar players, with the shot blocking and all. Fab is 3 inches taller though.

But if looks like he's a long ways to go from playing, I love the Jarvis Varnado idea.
