Coach Doc Rivers acknowledged the Celtics tried to land Omer Asik this past offseason.
"Yeah," Rivers said, "and then they said what they wanted. And that ended all inquiries." Asik's eventual 3-year, $25 million deal left a lot of pundits speechless, but he's turned out to be a solid addition for the Rockets. Although for fantasy purposes, his minimal offerings in blocks (1.1 per game) and high turnover rate make him basically a double-double specialist.
