Nick Young 30pts tonight. Jamal Crawford was top ten in scoring in the NBA. OJ Mayo has looked fantastic avg 21ppg/ David West has been good. Even Andre Blache would have been much better  than Darko or Collins.

 I'm just saying.

Mayo, West not Ainge's fault. Mayo had a choice. The West deal went through, really hurt me.

Young and Blatche were headcases at the time. Justifiable. I guess.

Young, Blatche...would Doc have given them what they needed to thrive? Darko?

Could Jamal Crawford be on a systematic offense and still have the success he's having? The Jet has become moderately successful.

What if Lee or someone outperforms them? Are their performances sustainable?

Lee is proven. Contributed during a long playoff run. Young vet.

Neither Blatche nor Young can be considered as such and those were the gambles Ainge could have made and had a choice.

Although that's not to say Ainge is infallible.

Gave up Ryan Hollins.

Signed Stiems to a one year deal only as the NBA stat geek pointed out. Although he also pointed out that most GM's make the same mistake of not signing them to more.

You could argue he rushed to sign Collins.

You could also argue he was impatient in getting Jajuan Johnson. Quite a few good players after Jajuan could have been taken.

Also, not moving up for Faried.

I did not intend on making this point...but I guess this kind of shows how you can't really hover around your mistakes too much. Hindsight is 50/50. Ainge could have done a lot of things wrong too but he didn't.

Edit: but I guess Collins has kind of come back to the ground after starting off hot this season.

Is this the Nick Young you are talking about?  The one who has been averaging 38% from the field, 32% from beyond the arc, and less than 10 points in 24 minutes per game so far this season.

You say he finally had a decent game?  Good for him.  I'm hardly seeing "the one that got away" here.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Nick young is horrendous.

We tried our hearts out to get David West. He was pinched from us.

You left out pietrus, quisey and etwaun moore. (All VERY cheap options.)

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

There are countless guys we didn't get, not just the few the OP decided to mention.

Water under the bridge, would of, could of, should of....

I support the team we have.   Could we have done better, yes.

But it's not like you can change time and go back.  So I find this thread whiny and pointless.

I just don't feel upset about the players listed here that the Celtics didn't chase.

Well, I was all to get Blatche last season and offseason. You never know, but he's talented and there's a chance he could help the team.

But I liked Darko even more... bad luck, his mom's illness makes it very difficult for him to show his talents.

About the rest of the players mentioned, Pietrus is someone I'd like to see healthy in green, but that's also unlikely.

I feel bad for Jajuan...

What are you saying? Are you pinning our "not getting" these guys on Ainge, or, are you saying that Ainge is a master bc he tried to get these guys, but just couldn't? Or none of the above, are you saying instead that it is hard to bring good guys to Boston for some reason (taxes, winter, current players, Doc....)?
Celtics fan for life.

Thank you both. Nick Young is such a bonehead.

Too early to be judging players, lets see who is the final four at the end of the year before we judge...
