I really hope the Lakers don't turn it around. My dream is that Nash returns against Phoenix with blonde hair and a mustache. Then at half he comes out in a Suns jersey NWO style and starts referring to himself as Stache Nash.

Saw a Kobe interview today where he referred to himself as "a bit of a psychopath when it comes to winning" and called out everyone. I think his mask of sanity is beginning to slip!

The Knicks are legit. I only hope Amare throws a wrench in their chemistry.

The Knicks remind me of the Magic from a few years ago.

Very gimmicky, they will rain threes on you if you aren't careful, but if you just let Melo have his, defend the threes, and don't turn the ball over, you can beat them.

I expect them to beat up a crappy team or two in the playoffs and then get dropped as soon as they face a really good team.

I'd like to see JR Smith get aggressive here. He is their best scorer with Melo on the bench.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

Knicks Now > Magic Then.

The Knicks have one of the best closers in the game - the one thing that kept the Magic from beating the Lakers. You can't go to Howard during crunch time because he is a liability (Hack-A-Howard).

Also, they have legit playmakers and legit defensive specialists. They are a far more complete team than the Magic 2009.

It looks like those highlight clips of Kobe Bryant in high school right now.

Kobe dribbles up, the four other guys get the hell out of the way, Kobe goes one on one and either takes it to the rack or pulls up for a jumper.

The Lakers need to make another mini-run soon. Get NY worried.

That should do it. Good response from NY with the Tyson Chandler alley oop and JR Smith long jumper to push the lead back up to 11/12 after it slipping to 7.

I don't think LA can get back into this. Not getting enough stops or quality enough shot attempts to make up that lead in the next 3:40. NY have this.

Aaaaaaaannnnnddddd...... The lakers lose again.  ;D

They are now 9-14 and on a 4 game losing streak. I know this can't continue the whole season since there is too much talent there. But it sure is fun while it lasts.

Kobe played 44 minutes in a laker loss. I love it.

I'm not a Kobe fan but now I see why he scores as much. That team is a mess.

I think you're underrating that Magic team.  And overrating Carmelo.

I'm confident that you apply a similar strategy to defending the Knicks as the Celtics used against the Magic (and the Cavs from those days, too), and they'll fold.  There will be some nights when the Knicks just can't miss from 3, but I just don't see a team that relies so heavily on Felton, Kidd, Melo, and Chandler going all the way.  Actually, in some ways, with Melo at the 4, they're a little bit like the 2011 Mavs.

Except I'll take playoffs Dirk over playoffs Melo anytime.  And Ronnie Brewer is not Shawn Marion.

Kobe played a SMARTER GAME.... even though they lost. I sure , alot of people were on him for playing 3 periods of Hero ball 1 on 5.

The Lakers much as I HATE them seemed to be actually playing serious and actually playing defense  the 4 period.  Maybe they are finally  figuring it out.

Knick s  get respect anytime they can beat the Lakers and Heat.

Shame Melo went down...  it was a real route .

Lakers looked SLOW ... and old .

MDA needs to change HIS GAME to fit the Lakers players , the LA players ..stars are too old to play his style of ball.

La can still be potent , if they play very slow pace and rebound well....and Kobe trusts his teamates.

GO WIZZARDS !!! ;D

I'm glad the Knicks are playing well--as the number of good teams rises, the NBA gets much more fun to watch.
I like it when the older more storied teams like the KNicks are doing well.

There is a sense of history there that just isn't with squads like Minnesota or Miami.

Solid point.

As for 'Melo/Dirk... I'd take playoffs 'Melo at this point in their careers, but Dirk definitely redeemed himself from his great no-show in 2006.
