Why?  It shouldn't affect local coverage of the game.  Just makes it so those out of the Boston market can also see it.

I'm not local, have League Pass. NBA TV blocks League Pass games. Plus... I'd rather listen to local commentators than whomever NBA TV puts in place.

You're right the fan night just determines which game gets put on NBA TV.

Oh well, I can still watch the C's, but not in HD.
