I am very happy with the Celtics offense, but their defense is somewhere between mediocre and solid...with a little too much mediocre. This is a .500 team if they don't improve on the defensive side. Dallas should not be in this game with all the turnovers and yet...here they are just like we have seen so many times. Celtics should be cruising and instead could soon be losing.

Box score looks pretty even to me (no TV where I'm at right now),and we almost had a pair of 30 point quarters.

What's the eye test saying?

Barbosa hasn't been playing because he's been a liability on defense.  It's not a coincidence our defense has gotten way better since he's been out.  He's still going to probably be a contributer later on, but right now he's nothing but a scoring spark plug when we absolutely need.  Our defense isn't good enough right now to have a Nate Robinson playing.

Lee's shot hasn't been falling obviously this season, but he's still been playing pretty solid defense and he's sprinted every single time there's been a fastbreak on offense and defense.  He does all the little things that you need to have to be a championship team.

He's too good a shooter for the shot to not start falling eventually.  But he can still be a contributer without shooting a bunch of 3s.

Bloody hell. What was Jeff Green doing there. Holding the ball for ages with the shot clock winding down 25 feet from the basket.

I really like those 8 to 14 foot range jumpers from Elton Brand.

I wished more players looked for that shot. Especially centers.

Green's defense on Vince Carter is beyond bad in this quarter. He is getting lost on pick and rolls and switches and Carter is going right by him.

Defense has been terrible so far in the 4th quarter and for a lot of this half.  I ain't worried about the offense, I want stops.

Yeah, but I think more at fault is Rondo there. HE wasted the whole shot clock at the top of the key, then passes it to Green, and brings his defender toward him. So you have Green there, with two defenders on him and Rondo just standing next to him doing nothing.

I really like JVG's rant on what the Lakers are missing and KG's intensity. Someone should put that on Youtube. Really true.

They've had Dallas on the ropes several times but didn't finish them off. Let them get back into the game and now it's close game midway in the fourth. Celtics making life hard on themselves tonight.

They have been the superior side but a hot shooting spell from Dallas or a bad few minutes Boston could end up costing them the win.

This should not be a game right now.
