Haha I giggled. I'll give you a tommy point. (not that it means much)

That said I know what we're missing without Perk. Not much. Especially now that Jeff is starting to play half decent basketball.

That's not a shot that you want Perk taking.  It was no uglier than Courtney Lee's airball in crunch time, though.

Oh but it was because at least Lee's was from three- who airballs from 15 feet?  ;D

No need for a guy like perk to put on dwight Howard, Zach randolph, Tim Duncan and others to get through the west.  :D

At least Perk is an exclusive post player and not a 3 pt specialist.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Wait, are you saying that Perk had a good game or in some way contained Dwight Howard or that he would be able to contain Duncan or Randolph?

Perk was 0-2, no points, 3 rebounds, 1 block, 5 fouls.

DH was 9-17, 23 points, 18 rebounds.

I feel bad for Perk because it is not his fault OKC overpaid for him but he is not the player he once was and he never was the player that seems to live on in the urban legend.  Perk is a great guy and a part of Celtics history but right now as a player, he is nothing more than an amnesty candidate.

Careful bringing actual facts in here, the Perkins nostalgia crowd will tell you he's still the same defensive anchor he was when he played here.

I love perk, but he's not the same guy he was pre knee injury. He's getting beat like a dead horse by elite centers now.

Not a good look when your one skill is being a "dwight/randolph, ect" stopper.

Free-throw airballs are pretty legit, won't you say? ::)

Rather have Perk than Collins.  But thats about it.  Green as done more in the past three games than Perk has all year on the court .  Green keeps it up , he may yet prove out DA's trade to be ok, well... at least in the long run.

I watched Perk last night, he looked poor on a great team.  Howard was toying with him ,  HOWARD doesn't look like he "GIVES A WOODEN NICKEL "  about the Lakers to me.  He seems to be going though the motions "playing the  Part" of their STAR center.  Playing at about 75% effort.

If Howard had coped a KG attitude last night (played his heart out) , he could have dropped 50 points on Perk .

Howard has no heart , especially for the LAKERS...which I think is just PEACHY. ;D

Proof hes an amnesty candidate? I find that laughable...pretty sure they would've done that before trading harden

Don't care about his numbers from last night and I didn't suggest he shut anyone down...I think I make it very clear when saying they will need perk to step it up and bang and be a thorn in the side of big men in the west especially in playoff time and some of the better ones on the better teams aren't leapers or athletic...sorry but they don't need perk scoring or even attempting a shot like that, they have 3 of the best to do that but no one to defend the likes of Zach randolph in a playoff series.

OKC is 88-23 since the Perkins/Green trade.  That winning percentage averages out to a 65 win season.  Boston is 75-53 since trading Perkins.  That comes out to a 48 win season.  36-26 with Green playing, which would be a 47 wins season.  Boston is equally mediocre with or without green since Perk's departure.

One can argue that OKC's remarkable record is due to the Thunder not having the wimpy Jeff Green playing big minutes, or it's because their two stars are so dominant, but Perk has to get some credit for balancing this roster and adding leadership and toughness.

To me, wins and losses is what the NBA is all about.  The Thunder have won big with Perk.  He's a role player, but one that great teams need - someone to do the dirty work and someone to bring toughness to the court every night.

Perk isn't a big rebounder, but he is very good at boxing out.  Perk isn't a good offensive player, but he's very good at setting picks so the good players can get easy shots. When you have two mega-stars like Westy and KD, that's what you need from one of your complementary players.  Perk's physicality also allows the lithe Ibaka to do his thing without burdening him to do a lot of the boxing out and mucking up in the lane - something Perk did here for KG.

I'll take Perk on my team any day, even if he's making $8m a year. I don't care if he shoots a FT line airball.  Big deal.

Howard put up some numbers on the Thunder last night, but was a -4 when on the court, and the Lakers lost (again).  OKC bigs were outscored by Laker bigs by only 4 points.
