I'm not sure if he plans to return on NBA anytime soon. But what if he decides to comeback? Will the C's take a gamble? If its for vet min, then Danny should take a risk.
Although he only played 82 games in his career, he is still young. Even if he doesn't play 100% like he used to, he could help in spot minutes and that might reduce his injury chance.

Signing greg oden is a really good, quick way of lighting millions of dollars on fire.

Why not try either Ralph Sampson III or Keith Benson?

Do we still have the LLE? If so I'd probably take a flyer on him on a 2 year contract for that price. He won't play this year, but you could get him with the medical staff, get him learning sets, etc. and then would have him next year on a cheap deal but knowing everyone. If he works out, great, if not then you don't lose a lot. Worth the risk given Oden's talent.

I would give him a two year deal LLE deal if it got him on the floor next year.
He is the type of player I would like to see them take a chance on. A guy that needs to get healthy and figure out how to stay healthy.
If he could, the Celtics would have a top 5 low post defender and rebounder.

2 years at 3 million a year is probably a good enough gamble.
The kid is only 24-25. If healthy (big if) at worse he's a very good rebounder and a rim protector. 3 mil a year is a high risk gamble I guess, but I think it's a good one.
