Remember the deal that we all thought danny had locked away for this guy and Larry stole him away on a bigger offer?

West is doing everything for indiana right now.

Past seven games: 24 points/9 boards/5 assists/1.5 blocks ... shooting 59%

David West would have taken this team to another level last year.  Really is a shame we couldn't get him to come here.

Ironically, him deciding we were too old could have very likely cost him a championship.

No doubt in my mind that West would have put us over the top last year.

Yeah, I'm with ya.  David West would have sealed the Eastern Conference Finals for us, at least.  We would have won before Bosh even got back.

He would have been a pretty good combatant against bosh at least.

Always loved David West, he's one of my favorite PFs.  Above average defender and unstoppable when hot.  Super underrated passer and even ballhandler, with a great shot off the dribble (rare for bigs outside of Dirk and Amare).  When he faces up he's an elite triple threat.  In his 20s he was pretty much an oversized SF like Josh Smith, which I found weird because he's a top 5ish player with his back to the basket.

Sad that non-explosive players like this are a dying breed.  He and Duncan are the only guys still scoring 20 with purely fundamentals.  If he ever had anything close to the athleticism of Josh Smith or Amare he probably could've won an MVP.

West has shown that he wasnt just a benefit to Chris Pauls game but that he is very capable of being an All Star caliber player on his own. What an amazing pick up this would have been. Bass is a great second option, but nowhere near the ability that West would be giving us.
