From Bruce Bowen's twitter:  How many guys in the league today are MORE CONCERNED with protecting a teammate, than ending the streak of a personal goal?  LOVE RONDO!!!

I cannot believe that some on this board were accusing Rondo of being selfish and putting his streak above team!!  He has earned the benefit of the doubt for the foreseeable future IMHO!!

Long live Rondo in green!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Bruce. Well, I went to, but then he stuck a foot out and took my legs out from under me.

Good thing you weren't in mid-jump. Those high ankle sprains take forever to get over.

Rondo had enough of his team getting outplayed and punked by the Nets and did something about it. Now it's up to the C's to get his back.
I really don't like all this whining about his selfishness, immaturity etc. Well, at least there are no "trade Rondo" threads anymore.

I agree. This is not just backing up a teammate, but a message to the team saying we need toughen up.

And with the Rondo hate, well, others are really putting ridiculously high expectations on him. Even if he plays great, still not enough. I've seen plenty on this forums.

I really respect Bruce Bowen.  he fought and clawed to carve a place for himself in the NBA, despite his limited talent.  He was the only one willing to call out LeBron James for acting like a prima donna at the beginning of camp for the 2008 Olympic team.

Bowen understands that you need toughness to thrive  in the NBA and him giving Rondo a shout out holds weight with me, while many in the media who never played the game wring their hands about Rondo's alleged temper and immaturity doesn't.

Major respect for Bowen on this. He knows whats up. The spineless media does not, however.

How about this --

67 games left in the season, C's have 8 wins.

They need to go 42-25 the rest of the way to finish with 50 wins.

The streak stuff was so funny. Rondo apparently was just trying to extend the streak at all costs by changing the way he plays.

A. He's always played like that
B. Do you really think he was going to go home and cry if he didn't continue it?
C. It is one of the most insignificant records anyway
D. He'll probably get up to that number 40 games from now so get ready to start complaining

I think Bruce is giving Rondo too much credit.  I'm sure he would do things differently if given the time to think it through.
