Whenever I get what I think is a really good trade idea, I feel like its worth its own thread

Boston trades:  Avery Bradley, Jeff Green, Sullinger
Boston gets:  Gortat, John Salmons

Phoenix trades:  Gortat
Phoenix gets:  Tyreke Evans, Sullinger

Sacramento trades:  Tyreke Evans, John Salmons
Sacramento gets:  Avery Bradley, Jeff Green

Thoughts?  I really like this for all parties.  Maybe least for Phoenix, but I'd think it at least has to be in the ball park and could happen with a little tweaking?

It would be tough to see Bradley and Sullinger go, but I think I'd do it if I'm trying to win a championship in the next couple years.  All three teams seem to benefit.  Good trade idea.  TP.

Maybe Kings would have been reluctant to do this, but Tyreke Evans isn't performing well alongside Isiah Thomas, so, he could be moved out. Plus, they get a young, good SF in Green in return.

I'm not really on board with this trade. It puts a lot of eggs into one basket (Gortat) to make our team significantly better. We lose our SG of the future, our SF of the future and our PF of the future for a pretty good C.

Sacramento should do this trade immediately. Getting AB and Green for Tyreke while shedding a bad contract is a steal. I doubt PHX wants Tyreke for Gortat. A troubled SG/SF for a good center is a bad trade off.

I don't think the Celtics wouldn be better or worse for this trade. I think losing AB and Green while adding Gortat is probably a wash. I'd like to see Green keep adjusting in our offense and I'd like to see our guard rotation after AB comes back. I'm really not convinced we should do anything unless we can add an allstar. I'd really like to make a smaller deal for Millsap or Varejao involving Bass/Sullinger and picks. That would be ideal to me.

It does put a lot of our eggs into one basket, but you said it, makes our team significantly better.  Talent/potential-wise it may be a wash, but when you consider the minute distribution, I think it will make us better overall.  We have no minutes for AB as it is.  If we do give him minutes, then talented players like Lee, Terry, and Rondo will be seeing less minutes.

Gortat, on the other hand, would be taking minutes away that would otherwise be used in situations like Green at PF and Bass/Sully at center.

While Salmons seems like a throw in, I think he'd be a pretty interesting backup to Pierce.  He is (or was at least back when he got playing time) a very good shooter and has a knack for scoring the ball similar to how Pierce does.  This might be nice for consistency considering how Green's contrasting offensive style to Pierce's really hasn't panned out yet.

This I a "win now" trade IMO, and I think it's a pretty good one.

We are giving up so much young talent though, but hey, if it makes the team so much better and we can win the title now, I think it's worth it.

I will tweak it and take James Johnson instead of Salmons if possible, if not, or SacTo doesnt bite the trade, then Salmons is fine.

I originally had Francisco Garcia in the deal.  Garcia is a player I actually like and think can be a serviceable bench role player (like a Matt Barnes) for a team.  Then I thought SAC would much rather give up the extra year on Salmons and I like the outside shooting that Salmons still can provide.  I'd do it with either player because Gortat is the real piece of this trade and the trade can't be done without other salary coming back.

Regardless, yeah its a decent amount to give up, but we're getting back an arguably top 10 NBA center on one of the NBA's best non rookie contracts.  Those don't just become available on the regular.
