Hulk is probably the biggest show wrestler, but he couldn't hold a candle to The Nature Boy, Ricky SteamBoat, Baron Von Raski, The Iron Sheik, Black Jack Mulligan, JYD, lol...

Now THOSE were the days right there. ;D

My favorites were Bruno Sammartino, Killer Kowalski, Haystack Calhoun and Andre the Giant.

Boy, am I old.

AS an avid WWF(E) fan, it depends on what your defintion of biggest star is.

If were talking "made Vince alot of money" then the list goes

1. Hulk
1B. Austin
2. Rock
3. HBK
4. Cena
5. Warrior....mabey taker

If were talking "amazing to watch" then

1. HBK
2. Austin
3. Rock
4. Hulk
5. Taker

Honorable mention: Bret, Jericho, Eddy

If were talking pure "this guy was the complete package, can talk, work in the ring, and sell"

1. HBK
2. Bret
3. Austin
4. Jericho
5. NWO era Hogan

This generation, there are only a couple guys who can even approach that level, and alot of them are hampered by Cena being the only "top guy." Cena's servicable, but he is what he is.

Crownsy's current list of guys who I suspect could hang in the golden age/ attitude era, but will never get the chance to show how good they could be due to current product

1) CM Punk
2) Daniel Bryan
3) Cody rhodes

anddd... here comes the your crazy 4th guy

4) The miz. I know, i know "the real world guy?!?!?" but the last 2-3 years he has really upped his in ring work and the kid is gold on the mic. Not saying he would have been a star in the late 80's and 90's, but he would have carved out a spot on talking alone.

Where does Goldberg rate anyway? He was pretty big back when I was watching :') His undefeated streak and the jackhammer/spear.

I recall playing as Goldberg most of the time in WCW NWO Revenge on the N64 ;)

Freakshow power guy with a short life span popularity wise.

The Streak Storyline was gold and really caught fire, but he was awful on the mic and in ring outside of his power moves.

Once he lost that streak and had to actually talk and compete in longer matches, he didn't go too far. He had a great 2-3 year run though, no doubt.

He also burned every bridge he had with that "farewell" match against brock. What a debacle.

Topped only recently by Jeff Hardy showing up high on coke as TNA's world champ which resulted in a visably furious sting having to hold him down to get the win in a main event that lasted 20 seconds.

The "biggest" wrestler was Hulk.

I think the best wrestler in the ring was Chris Benoit.

Benoit is defintly in the top 5 all time from a technical wrestling standpoint, really tragic how his life turned out, and the vicious and horrific crimes that will forever define him.

Yeah.  You would hope that the tragedy would clean up the sport in terms of PEDs and drug cocktails, but I don't have my hopes up.  Wrestling is pretty brutal, "fake" or not.

I agree. Benoit is the best technical performer I have ever seen in a squared circle.

That best of seven series he had with Booker T was gold. Solid gold.

Sable and Trish Stratus... HA Jk

It has to be any combination of The Rock, Hogan, and Austin.

But a favorite of mine has to be:

Coming from the rafters, the lights going out, etc. He was very entertaining.

And of course leave it to me to mention:

And no I am not named after him... I came first lol

I love Kane, one of the most underrated big men around.

His current tag team with Daniel Bryan is amazing, and along with the Rhodes Scholars is reviving Tag team Wrestling in the WWE.

P.S breakout star of the year = bryan. Guy has been solid gold for them.

How funny that the guy they weren't willing to push got over by screwing him over at Wrestlemania. Love D-Bry.

Yes? No?

I dunno if they really screwed him over. I mean, I was at that WM in miami and long before the match the YES YES YES chant could get going in a second.

And yes, being there live we were ticked that he got the 18 second squash, but that was clearly planned to turn him even more heelish on AJ, which it accompished to a phenominal degree. He had his breakout promo the next night "dumping" her.

I think that's just a case of WWE taking a risk with that finish, then using it to define his character.
