I said it at the before the season and still feal the same way. Because Bass and Sully are alike,  Bass is expendable.  Celtics should trade bass for the best Center that they can get.  I wish they tried to sign and trade Bass for Robin Lopez this past offseason,  but now get what you can for him.  Move KG back to PF.

The other roster move I would do is start Pierce at SG and Green at SF.  I tihnk Green's game will take a big jump in the starting lineup.

He'll most likely be moved along with a rookie for a better big man.
We'll have to package him with picks+solid rookie+young guy or Courtney Lee to get anything half decent in return;
ie: Josh Smith or Verajao or Millsap.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
The Jason Smith bandwagon is making a stop at this thread.

You want to trade Bass, deal him for Jason Smith,
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

Wouldn't that mean more JG at the 4? Bass plays like half an hour at there each game.

Maybe not. Smith is quick enough to play at the 4 so you can put him at the 4 or 5 no problem.

What I meant was can he play more than the 20 minutes a game he's been playing so far? Is he good enough for those minutes?

If not, JG plays PF minutes. That or Sully.

Still intrigues me though.

How does Jason Smith improve our team?

His career rebounding rate is essentially the same as Bass, and that's with him playing some C. His career TS% is worse as well, he'll block a few more shots but its not like Smith has been a defensive player.
