I constantly have to remind myself that Melo is on this team. Best of luck to both of them especially Melo since he has a long road ahead.

This is good.  Fab is gonna be good player one day . I like both guys a ton. ANd I think they'll be able to contribute late in the season to rest the starters .

Good move.  These guys would barely see the floor this year, unless some catastrophe of injuries occurred or the Celtics were just completely blowing out the opposition late in the fourth or getting blown out themselves.

At least in Maine they will get actual playing time against guys who have played in the league or at least have the potential to do so.  Better than riding the pine, or in the case of the NBA, folding chairs and only seeing "playing time" in practice.

Best thing for both:
Joseph can get some pt in case he is needed and Melo can work on nearly every aspect of his game (3 yr project)

This is the right move for both players. Neither are ready for minutes on the NBA floor especially this team. A full year in the D leagues might help them polish up some things and maybe they can help with the back end of the rotation next season.

that's a great move. As much potential Melo has, he's not actually going to be good if he doesn't play. Since he's not playing for us, might as well send him to the D-League to get some more playing time.

Same with Joseph...

I see this a being a good move for Joseph but possibly a bad move with Melo.  Melo needs to be practicing with the team.  I consider him to be like a high school kid you pick in the 1st round.  You can't send a guy like that to play against players who he can be undisciplined against and still compete.  I understand the need to get him game reps though.

In the morning he practices with the Celtics. At night he drives to Maine. Best of both worlds.

Very good move.

Melo is a project and could benefit from a slow learning process.

Kris Joseph, while I think is NBA ready, will not see the floor with PP, Green, JET, Lee, Bradley and Barbosa occupying the wings spot. He will atleast not get rusty when needed.

And both can show what they have if they dominate in NBDL.

well stated.  ;)

but really, a good move by the celtics. the two saw training camp, practices, and how the celtics play. now it is time for them to improve their basketball skills at maine by playing more minutes.

the claws will be fun to watch and follow now.

go claws!!!!!  ;D

addition: ha, ha...i just checked out the claw webpage.

http://www.nba.com/dleague/maine/seasonsplash.html

the whole page is a pix of melo with the title is "its going to be a FAB-ulous season in maine."  :D

i just noticed on the claw web pages that jeremiah rivers is on the team. given the family name i checked and found out he is doc's son and the older brother of austin.

also, micah downs is on the team. so a few interesting players are there.

I'm predicting Joseph is gonna beast in D league , show his stuff.  I think he has more potential than Lee even at the 2 spot .  I think Danny is partially hiding Joseph . , till he needs him.

Good.

I hope they put Joseph into the roll he will most likely be for the Celtics.

Defender off the bench, offensively, find the corner 3.
