Bird, Rondo, Isaiah Thomas (before he went nuts), Mahorn, Salley, Laimbeer

if we are including dinosaur-era history players, i would throw in dave cowens as well.

Come on now, i'm not quite ready to have my era's guys thrown in the "dinosaur era"...Can I get you to go with Rennaissance Era maybe?

I guess then we'd have to call the 90's the Dark Ages.

If you want a guy who combines the elements of on court toughness with a guy who I wouldn't want to tangle with in a dark alley, and a guy who is just plain a little nutty, I nominate Tony Allen.

Really guys?  John Havelick is the only name that should come to mind for all-time.

How else do you play 1,442 out of 1,475 games?

Impressive.

Rose is tough to a fault. It caused him to ruin his knee. Same with Kobe whose playing through various injuries probably hasn't helped him be at his best when it's mattered most. I put Rondo in that category, but it hasn't caught up with him yet (knock on wood).

I still go with PP. He's babyish at times, but when it matters, he's on the court. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Pierce#Stabbing_incident

How about guys like Kurt Thomas or Grant Hill who fought through injuries that should have ended their careers earlier on, but have battled through them to have lengthy careers.  You know their bodies must be killing them after a hard practice or a game.

True. Grant Hill is way up there for me. Same with Nash whose going to end up like Bird with his back issues.
