I guess I'm alone but I want the Lakers to make the playoffs and be humiliated by OKC or the Spurs in the first round.

No way, I want them to be out and not even have a lottery pick to show for it.

Hawks playing right now at 7:00 do we really want them to lose, so we can catch the Pacers? If they lose we're tied right but we own the tiebreaker?

Knicks fans really want us to move up to sixth ;D

Where do we wanna be?  :P We'll play whoever the NBA tells us to... just let the games play out.

Any year the Lakers don't make the playoffs is a good year.

But. it's interesting to think whether OKC may act strategically tonight.  They are currently a game behind SA for the 1-seed.  If they beat Utah tonight, they put LA back in the driver's seat for the 8th seed while putting themselves closer to the 1-seed.  If I'm OKC, I much prefer a match-up with Utah (or Houston if OKC gets the 2-seed) in round 1 than against LA. So maybe they take this game easy.
That said, I am sure getting the 1-seed trumps everything right now and they'll likely blow Utah out of the gym tonight.  All the while the Lakers will be taking on the mighty Hornets.

If they lose tonight, they basically are locked to play the Rockets. If they win, they've got 65-35 with Lakers or Jazz.

It's kind-of hard for OKC to lock up a matchup with Utah at this point. I would've preferred a strategy where OKC intentionally lost AND played Utah in round 1. I don't see OKC intentionally losing tonight's game, to play Houston.

They want the first seed, but I don't know if they can get it either.

Knicks are 9/12 from the land of milk and honey, but I still don't see them keeping this up.

If we actually play them, Doc will reboot our three-point defense to last year's standards and NY will definitely cool down.

I can't see them hitting so many threes for so long; they're gonna start missing soon like they did from January - March.

I've got another angle or two for why you should want the Lakers to make the playoffs.

1) The Lakers making the playoffs may make it less likely that Mike D'Antoni gets fired
2) More games where Kobe could tear his ACL

This is why I don't like NBA fans' opinions and why I'm a cynic. That's just terrible, period.
