I think this image is bigger than posting rules allow and I am too lazy to resize, but I saw it around some other places:

It's one game. So what? But yes, Portland/SanAn don't get much coverage.

I wish Portland would make the playoffs but.......
They've got a good future ahead of them with Lillard/Batum/LMA sprinkled in with some Wes.

The jazz are garbage. Getting blown out by a team without its two stars.

Denver putting Iggy on Ricky Rubio.

It'll be interesting to see how well Rubio handles the defensive pressure from a bigger defender. He uses his size so well to pass over the top of smaller guards.

Iggy has got a great matchup on the other end. No way Ridnour can cover Iggy.

Ricky Rubio has such great hands defensively. He is going to lead the league in steals in the near future. Maybe a few times. Terrific instincts.

Hmm ... averaging a league lead-tying 2.4spg (with Chris Paul) this year in only 28.7mpg. Pity he has missed so many games this season. Needs 125 steals to quality, to be eligible, for the steals title. He has 79 so far. 24 games left. That is doable.

Averaging 4.3 steals over his last 10 games. Something like 3.7 over his last 15-20 games. Terrific stuff. Apparently, 3.67spg is the record for most steals per game in an individual season. I wonder if Rubio will ever threaten that.

Wolves transition defense very poor. Several players not even bothering to try and get back to stop Denver's fastbreaks. Not enough effort.

Chris Johnson is still a lousy player. Lightweight defender/rebounder. Not enough paint presence. Great quickness and mobility but too small/skinny and not smart enough.

Lakers vs. Bulls tomorrow...
I am torn.
Potentially we can move up a spot, but if Lakers don't make the playoff- that will be just awesome.

Too bad both can't lose.

That's if we do our job tomorrow against OKC! If we win...I think I might need the Lakers to beat the Bulls. But if we lose, back to my usual hating ways. (:

Why are there so many Celtics fans wishing Lakers to miss the play-offs? Do you want them to avoid further humiliation :)
Seriously, though, I want them to be in the play-offs or the awesome media would be blaming the lost season on the underperformed first half of the regular season, which will be a lame excuse.

All those stars and not making playoffs...I think that would hurt more.

There are plenty of reasons for that.
-They downgraded their center position by trading away Bynum. Granted, Bynum wouldn't even be able to play, so, they can feel they were lucky were this season.
-Gasol hasn't been as good as he was in the past seasons. As soft as he has always been, but he was a whole lot more efficient. He was derailed by injuries, as well.
-Nash isn't the one we know anymore. He can't carry the team offense alone, and when he can't do that, his defensive liabilities become more critical.

So, I'm not one bit surprised by their current state. I expected them to be a couple of games above .500, to be fair, but a borderline play-off team, that's it.
