I read a rumor that Kobe might have decided he has a better chance of becoming the NBA's all-time leading scorer than of passing Michael Jordan in rings, so he may have shifted gears in what he is trying to do.

Mark Jackson really made some curious choices against the Lakers.  I don't understand why he played Ezeli for so long in the fourth quarter.  Ezeli's barely played in fourth quarters all season. He cannot change that up against one of the top centers int the game, in the most intense atmosphere they've been in all season. I guess he wanted Ezeli to guard Howard but Landry's been their best fourth quarter player all season and had defended Howard surprisingly well earlier in the game.  Jackson should have at least kept switching Ezeli and Landry after every timeout and dead ball.  Ezeli cost GS several points on offense.

Jackson made another bizarre decision in their last lost too against Sacramento.  After Curry fouled out, he put in Jefferson for the first time in the game with two minutes left to go.  Talk about valuing the cliche of veteran experience.  Jackson really out thinks himself.

As usual Lakers protecting Kobe on defense. He is guarding smaller Jason Kidd, meanwhile 6'3 Darius Morris is on Carmelo Anthony. Kobe doesn't have to expend his energy on defense.

I'm gonna stay awake and watch the Knicks and the Lakers go at it.

As Jeff noted: someone has to lose.

Also, check that game out. The uniforms are ... well ... something else.

The Lakers ones? No more purple & gold: white and ... white. And white. And a bit of purple. And white.

Not going to discuss the Knicks ones, can't look at them long enough to have an opinion.

They should have started Artest instead of Pau Gasol. Or at least instead of Morris.

Yeah, and people (i.e. most casual NBA fans) are like "Did you watch Kobe, he got 40 against (insert team)?". Only problem is, he went like 12 of 33 for that particular game.

Dwight Howard barely looks bigger than Ronnie Brewer.

I think the Knicks ones are alright. They'd be better with dark coloured lettering. The Lakers ones look awful similar to those white heat jerseys. Nash's and Kobe's yellow shoes look horrible with the white uniforms.

I wonder how much the NBA is going to make of these special Xmas day jerseys. They sure have advertised the heck out of them over the last few weeks.

I love Kidd vs Nash games. In Lakers/Knicks no less. Odd.

Couple of months off HGH can do that to a man.

D'Antoni has moved Kobe to Small Forward to space the floor putting Metta on the bench.

JR Smith is getting abused on defense by Kobe Bryant.

Ron Artest is a difficult matchup for JR Smith too. Nobody he can guard. Can't guard Nash.

JR's got 12 points on 5-8 shooting though.
