I would be interested to see Will Bynum start the second half instead of Brandon Knight.

It was very frustrating to watch how reluctant B.Knight was to look for dribble penetration in the first quarter. He has a slow footed defender guarding him in Jason Kidd. Is an elite athlete himself. And doesn't look to drive aggressively.

Knight is still too passive offensively. Falls in love with those long jump-shots. Doesn't create enough for his teammates ... also, an aside, someone needs to draw Tyson Chandler on help defense and get Monroe touches on the move. Too much one-on-one for Monroe. Use Monroe's mobility in the halfcourt. Find him on the move.

Will Bynum is a very aggressive player on dribble penetration and will attack Kidd relentlessly. I think Bynum can get a lot of joy there for Detroit. Lead the charge for a possible (big) comeback in the second half.

Detroit is crying out for someone who can draw a double team.

Their offense is so depressing. Everything is done in front of a set defense. Lots of one-on-one play and difficult contested shot attempts.

Hey, there we go. In comes W.Bynum and Detroit makes a run. Knicks lead down to 8 points after being around 15-16 points for most of the third.

New York should respond by bringing in Prigioni to defend W.Bynum. Jason Kidd can't cover him. They can put an end to this run quickly with Prigioni.

A steal and fastbreak created by Bynum. Tayshaun jumper. 7 point game. Go Bynum!

Edit: Another bucket for Bynum taking it to the rim. 5 point game.

Here comes Woodson with Prigioni. Good substitution. Only about 4 minutes late and it cost New York 11 points of that 16 point lead.

Bad coaching. Woodson's fault. Wrong lineup / defensive matchups.

C:  Amare
PF: Novak
SF: Melo
SG: JR Smith
PG: Jason Kidd

The Knicks best offensive combination two through five with Raymond Felton out. They should replace Kidd with Prigioni to start the fourth if he is ready after taking that elbow to the face. To defend Bynum.

Bad offensive execution by Will Bynum on about 4-5 possessions to end the period. Wasn't aggressive enough attacking Kidd. Gave up the ball too readily. Plus, there was that terrible turnover on Detroit's final possessions.

New York stretch their lead back to 12 (75-63) after Detroit cut it close.

Stuckey and Villanueva giving Detroit nothing. Gotta get them off the floor.

Let Brandon Knight play as a two guard alongside Bynum. See if he can get going as a spot up shooter and secondary ball-handler. He played badly as the PG but he might be able to get off after moving off the ball and playing off of W.Bynum.

Play Tayshaun and Singler as forwards alongside Monroe or Drummond at center with W.Bynum and B.Knight in the backourt. Go with Jerebko while Prince gets a breather here.

Wish I could give some counter-posting, but I know jack about the Pistons, and agree with your opinions on the Knicks... and am not watching the game ;)

Gotta love that Bosh is scared to guard Dwight.  Didn't take Haslem long to pick up 2 fouls.  Can't put a PF on Dwight.

If only Bosh was a man, Battier should really be starting this game.  Allow him or James to help off of Earl Clark.  Now they have to go small when Gasol comes in off the bench, PLUS Haslem will be in foul trouble the whole game.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Miami so much less daunting with Haslem in place of Battier.

Have the Heat hit anything outside of 5 feet?  And still leading.

Miami taking too many jumpers instead of attacking a bad defensive team.

They don't have to if LeBron keeps getting dunks off turnovers with absolutely no defense near him.

Give Gasol five minutes on the court without Kobe and he's the leading scorer.

Lakers might have something bringing him off the bench.
