Am I the only one that thinks that with Dirk back, Dallas has the potential to become a very dangerous team? I like their roster, Rick Carlisle has get a good rotation going, which should do wonders going forward. They're a bit disorganized at the moment.
If Dirk is back in good form, I wouldn't rule out their team doing pretty well the rest of the year.  Carlisle is one of the best coaches in the league so he'll get everything he can out of them too

Haha, oh boy, Thabeet got caught on a switch on Dirk.

Poor lad. Thabeet looked terrified as Dirk faced him up from 16 feet on the right wing. One pump fake and it was over. Thabeet was out of the play.
Yeah classic Dirk move right there.

Gotta feel bad for Dallas playing Miami, Memphis, San Antonio, and now OKC.  OJ Mayo in particular has had 3 absolutely horrible games and is 1 quarter away from a 4th.

As a die-hard German I kinda can't help hoping the Mavs are western conference champs.  I agree there's way too much of a defensive load for Elton Brand alone, but with their small ball lineups, crazy spread offense, and a lot of help from Shawn Marion it's not impossible.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Big matchup with Durant defending Dirk.

This will be very interesting. Big test for Durant.

PG: Collison vs Westbrook
SG: Mayo vs Martin
SF: Marion vs Thabo (Dirk defending Thabo)
PF: Dirk vs Durant (Marion defending Durant)
C:  Kaman vs Ibaka

Oklahoma has gone with a small lineup. Dallas with their big lineup.

Very interesting mismatches for Dallas offensively. However, Oklahoma have way too much quickness and jump-shooting for Dallas to defend against effectively.

As long as dallas doesn't turn the ball over and slows it down and executes then they can handle OKCs speed.

There is no way Vince Carter can defend Durant. Keep attacking that matchup.

PG: Collison vs Westbrook
SG: Mayo vs Martin
SF: V.Carter vs Thabo (Dirk defending Thabo)
PF: Dirk vs Durant (Marion defending Durant)
C:  Brand vs Ibaka

Durant scores easily over Vince on the next possession.

That was an awful possession for Dirk. He was 22 feet from the rim when he started that dribble drive on the clearout. Dirk has Durant on him. Dirk needs to get in the low to mid post and out-muscle Durant to the spot.

Collison not getting Dallas good shot attempts over the last few possessions.

Durant hit two game winners vs Dallas last season. They have no answer for him in crunch time

Great defense by Ibaka and Westbrook to force that turnover on Mayo's dribble drive. That should seal it for Oklahoma. Excellent late run to take this game from Dallas.

Dirk looks knackered. Clearly not fully match-fit yet. Tired out towards the end. Dallas with all their new players doesn't look like the know how to play with Dirk in the lineup either.

The encouraging part for Dallas Dirks return and Collison had his best game as a Maverick

This is going to be a tough loss for the Mavs.
It'll sting a little for a short while but after that passes I think they'll take a lot of positives from this game. Showing that they can compete against Oklahoma and can be a threat in the West. I think this game will do a lot for their confidence collectively. Because of the overall performance despite the finish.

I think a lot of good will come out of this. More encouraging than painful. At least after the initial sting of it wears off.
