any news on why Gasol isn't playing for the Lakers tonight?  illness or trade bait?

Knee Tendinitis

Quote
"The biggest thing with him was that he was playing hurt and in this league you just can't do that," Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said. "I just didn't think he was running fluidly."

Antawn Jamison will start for the Lakers in Gasol's absence.

"We got to get him healthy," D'Antoni said. "Whatever it takes -- one game, two games, 10 games -- I don't know. It's day to day but he's got to be healthy. It wasn't fair (to him). He's trying to battle through some stuff and in this league, you just can't do that."

This Hawks/Nuggets game is pretty good.
Signed to a 6 year $0 contract with the Celtics Blog forum!

I really hate those Miami uniforms on their homecourt. Those white/silver strips combined with their red/yellow areas on their homecourt ... yuck. They're an eyesore.

I love Tyson Chandler but I still feel he is only working at around 75% of what he could be as a defender/rebounder. He is doing a very good job offensively. I would love to see him develop his passing more though.

I don't like Miami starting Udonis Haslem against Kurt Thomas. They should have gone with more offense and someone who can stretch the floor. Put Kurt Thomas' slow feet in areas of the court (defensively) where he can't operate. Thomas isn't enough of a threat offensively to justify a player like Haslem. A wasted opportunity. Bad coaching. Holding Miami back.

Truly a shame to the game of basketball what the refs allow LeBron to do.

Nice post up by Rasheed over Bosh. Always nice to see some back-to-basket post play.

Impressive play by the Knicks without Carmelo, I didn't think they'd be able to keep pace with the Heat's offense.

Yeah the ugly uniforms for so many teams make watching games tough, designed to sell instead of to be worn.

Lots of threes to end this half.

Agree. It makes it difficult to watch. Sort of like WWF.
Celtics fan for life.

Knicks seem to have the heats number. You guys want to explain why you think that is?

If I didn't already know you were awesome and not completely negative like some about the C's, I'd post an angry post.

Simply because the Heat aren't the gods that everyone is making them out to be. Even around celticsblog. Jeez.
