On realgm, if you add Collison and Cook, it works.

I don't know how I feel about this trade...I mean Kevin Martin isn't so bad, I think both team benefited from this. OKC gets a similar player in Martin and a young prospect in Lamb, while Rockets got Harden. Harden is a starter...

I was thinking of this type of deal earlier. Kev Martin + 2/3 prospects was my trade idea.

Pretty close to the mark.

The Rockets will send Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and future pick considerations (first round picks from Mavericks and Raptors in 2013, and a second round pick from the Bobcats) for Harden, Cole Aldrich, Lazar Hayward and Daequan Cook.

Houston sends two 2013 first-round picks (from Dallas and Toronto) to Oklahoma CIty, source tells Y!

Houston also sends a 2013 second-round pick (via Charlotte) to Thunder.

Getting better for OKC.

Martin as a half-year rental. Huge expiring contract. OKC could parlay him and picks into Al Jefferson, perhaps, at the deadline?

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Cole Aldrich could be a difference maker as well. Looked lost as a rookie, little better last season, but Houston will give him the Royal Jelly he needs to have a shot at being a ball player.

And they still have pieces enough to make a move for another starting caliber big.

Great deal for OKC. Expiring contract, Jeremy Lamb, two 1st rounders and 1 second rounder for Harden and scrubs? Very nice.

Getting Harden almost makes up for the huge mistake of signing Lin.

Dragic > Lin

I hope that both teams will be more competitive with this trade.  I cant say wether one side one out over the other.

I want Harden to take it to the next level in Houston, but I hate to admit that after his performance in the Finals I have doubts about him as a prime mover on a team.  I have a feeling I will be proven wrong.

Getting Harden almost makes up for the huge mistake of signing Lin.

Dragic > Lin

Lin might bring in more business $ (Chinese consumers abroad) while Dragic was better on the pure basketball level. Maybe Lin is a "win" on the business side of things and a loss on the bball side of things.

Big win for Houston. They traded some scraps, one mid-first round pick and a good lottery pick for the best young two guard in the NBA who is already one of the top five SGs in the league.

Not a franchise player but a genuine building block. A guy who can be the 2nd or 3rd best player on a Championship caliber team. Finally on their way to building a new high level team after the departure of Yao Ming.

How much value does he bring to the organization if he's putting up crap numbers and leading them to the lotto?

But I guess 8 mil a year isn't too terrible for a mascot.

I guess it's a fair return for Harden. Lamb I think was a little underrated, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was a rotation worthy player by the end of the season.

But still, big win for Houston. Harden is the perfect guy to play next to Jeremy Lin, and between Lin, Harden, and White, they might be one of the better passing teams in the league. And like I said, with all the young talent they have, an upgrade over one of their starters is a very possible scenario.

Man I hope you guys are wrong about Lin. I'm pulling for him and the rockets this season.

Although I prefer Dragic I havent written Lin off.  He's a young player in a new situation, I am cautiously optimistic for him.
