Game Notes
This is the second preseason game between these two division rivals.  The first game was a spirited affair with the Knicks coming out on top 98-95 in OT.   The Knicks are playing in the second of back to back games and although most of their regular starters are listed they may sit them.

In the Knicks' 107-88 loss to the Raptors, Amare played 26 minutes and Melo played 33 minutes.   They may or may not play in this one.  Amare has pretty much said that he doesn't play to play.   Ordinarily,  the starters would sit in back to back games but this is New York and this is the Celtics, and after a sub-par effort with porous defense, their coach may want to try to work through some issues.  But, who knows.

The game notes have the regular starters listed, but they haven't been right yet, so why start now?   Doc has said that he will sit Paul Pierce and Brandon Bass tonight, both of whom sustained minor injuries in the last game,   I've put Jeff Green into the starting lineup for Pierce, but I have a funny feeling that Doc may start Kris Jospeh to keep some continuity with his core bench group.

KG and possibly Rondo may sit as well, but if they play it will be in limited minutes.  Darko would play if it was a regular season but expect Doc to sit him one more game to be cautious with his injured wrist.    We should get to see a lot of the young guys.

Keys to the Game
No more injuries.   Get the preseason finished and get ready for the Heat on opening night.

I think this game might be mainly reserves, the Knicks just played today and the starters logged heavy minutes. I think Doc said he's going to keep some of our guys out as well. I hope our bench can continue to gel go Celtics!!!

I think you are right.  Doc has said that both Pierce and Bass will sit.  Amare said he doesn't plan to play.  Beyond that, I'm not sure who's going to play and who's not.  I updated the game thread to show what I've learned so far.

It's actually Pierce and KG out as well I saw it on Bulpetts twitter feed, no injuries just rest. I think Darko is still out too.

Collins or Melo to start?

Or maybe Green at the 4, and have JT at the 2? Or Green at the 4 and Joseph and the 3?

I suspect the interior defense will be rather weak tonight.

I'd like to see them give it to Sullinger in the post and see what he can do against the length of the Knicks.

No Barbosa tonight. That's a little disappointing but not totally unexpected.
