JJ Abrams was on Conan and wanted to give him a treat so he released a whole 3 frames of the new Star Trek movie, which is entitled Star Trek Into the Darkness. He did set it up a bit and said Spock was in a volcano. http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/10/05/star-trek-into-darkness-jj-abrams-conan-spock/

I really liked the first one. I didn't think they could find anyone suitable to play Spock and Kirk, but I was surprised how well they both played their roles.
I'm hoping this one is just as good.

New trailer along with some comments on it.
The Japanese trailer has a few scenes added on, which look cool:

These new Star Trek movies could be the basis for a good new Star Trek series. I would like to see a good Star Trek series back on the air, one that does not have the influence of Rick Berman behind it.

Sounds like they are doing a take of "Menagerie" but I have heard Kahn too. But I read somewhere they had a Capt Pike.

Captain Pike was in the first one as Kirk's mentor and was played by Bruce Greenwood. He reprises that role in the second one as well.
