Do they even really need one?  Barring injuries, I don't see this as a necessity.

We don't need one. I think we need a vet with length in the guard position that can eat the bench without complaints. Better yet if he can handle the ball.

I'd be happy with bringing someone like Pavlovic back, but I'd rather have some ball handling.

But size is a must. Lee is pretty much the only guard we have with some size in him.

i'd rather pick up a 2/3 that gets cut.

Slide terry or bradley over to 1, and the 2/3 can give depth at small forward also, which is much needed.

I'd sign Fisher......just to cut him before the playoffs and see him cry.

I think the ideal situation is finding a 2/3 who can also handle the point if needed.  Where's Shawn Livingston when you need him?

Well Flynn had no points, 4 assists, and 3 turnovers last night for a bottom of the barrel Pistons team. And yet somehow I'm still intrigued by what he could do for this team if he becomes the fifth guard.

However, if that fails and we can't convince Keyon to unretire, I'm down for the return of the pride of Puerto Rico!

On an off-note, I do wonder if Keyon retired to help Christmas make the team. I know what he said and I believe him, but I think he liked what he saw in Christmas and decided he'd rather have Dionte on the team instead of him. I could be wrong though.

idk, thinking we'll run with 14, save the spot for a buyout guy.

feeling a lot of these types of rotations, where JET and Pierce handle the ball while Rondo gets a blow

Iverson? I say give it a try.
When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

Iverson? I say give it a try.

-Not a point guard
-Hasn't played NBA ball in almost three years
-There's no telling if he would want to take the role of a fifth guard after he's voiced his displeasure in coming off the bench.

if someone thought he was worth the headache, he would have been signed by now.

Gerald Green would have been perfect as a cheap option. He might blow up this year in Indy. Low risk high reward insurance policy.

Apparently he is completely out of shape.

Quote
Allen Iverson, at age 37, hasn't given up on the idea of playing professional basketball, but it appears he's running out of options. He's reportedly been considering playing in China, but according to a report from the Chinese website NetEase (translation via HoopsHype), the former MVP is in poor shape and has virtually no chance of getting a contract from a team in the Chinese Basketball Association.

Iverson's has been asking for a deal worth $1MM, according to the report, but that figure appears to be out of his reach after his speed and explosiveness were missing as he took part in a recent exhibition game in Beijing. The Answer reportedly declined offers from teams in the Dominican Republic and Venezuela last year, and hasn't played in the NBA since the 2009/10 season.

According to the same NetEase report, Iverson at least stands a better shot at a deal in China than fellow former NBA All-Star Steve Francis, who has failed to earn a deal after attending multiple CBA tryouts the past few years and remains out of shape. Francis, 35, last appeared in the NBA in 2007/08.
