Quote
The Marlins have informed the Boston Red Sox they'd be willing to trade Ramirez and closer Heath Bell for left fielder Carl Crawford and a prospect, according to four officials with knowledge of the talks. The four spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because negotiations are ongoing.

Two of the officials who are from the Red Sox told USA TODAY Sports there have been trade talks, but they were initiated by the Marlins. The Marlins, who sent vice president Dan Jennings to Boston to watch Crawford this week, say the talks are active, but they're trying to determine whether to abandon their postseason hopes before pulling a trigger on any trade. They were 44-46 entering Wednesday, nine games out of first place in the NL East.

Being a Mets fan, I love that this Miami Marlins/Heat 2.0 experiment, isnt panning out as they'd hoped.

For the Sox, even if it’s not a great talent for talent deal, it still benefits them enough that they should pull the trigger. Ramirez is in the fourth year of a six-year, $70 million contract; and Bell, is in the first year of a three-year, $27 million deal. That means ALL of Crawfords money will be off the books by 2014 allowing flexibility to add talent via free agency sooner. That talent, even though unknown, should still be considered in this proposal. While the Sox are wining and dining the top free agent pitchers in 2014, Miami will still be looking at 3 more years of Crawford. Move on from this mistake now.

I say hell yeah and TP.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.
