Man if CLE somehow amnestied Varejao....I'd LOVE for Danny Ainge to snatch him up somehow.

I know it's unlikely, though.
I've wanted him on the Celtics so bad for a while. His pesky attitude and rebounding which we sorely lack would make us beast.

yup
Varejao is right now maybe one of the top 4 centers in the league
And not saying this because hes on my fantasy team dont get me wrong

Surprised to see there hasn't been more discussion on this thread. Yeah there are no Celtics, but it's been good basketball.

Watching Varejao and Pau in their element has been a personal highlight. Deng has looked good too. The US doesn't look that crisp but they don't need to. I don't see anyone beating them. Too much talent.

I'm pretty disappointed with the Olympic coverage today. I coulda been watching Lithuania vs Nigeria bball, but they saw fit to put on a horsey thing. I really really really don't care a horse can jump over a tiny fence.

I despise the US Scheme Team, and as I watch Lithuania hang tough against them, I really hope they lose in the medal round.  Besides having unlikable players like LeBron, Melo and Kobe, I hate the way the team plays.

Too bad Spain doesn't have Rubio, because a seasoned team with height that can handle defensive pressure is the kind of team that can beat the Scheme Team.

The legacy of the original Dream Team was dominating the world in basketball and simultaneously popularizing the game worldwide.  The legacy of the LeBron version was him conspiring with other Scheme Teamers to take the easy way to a title, instead of competing against his NBA peers for a ring.

How have Lithuania's two big men played against USA?

Valanciounas and Motiejunas - do they look ready to contribute next year?

C  - Carmelo
PF - Durant
SF - LeBron
SG - Kobe
PG - Paul

Pretty depressing that there is no quality big man to anchor that lineup. Badly missing a rim deterrent. Lithuania getting far too many good looks in the paint after they beat that first defender.

Fair play to Melo though. Good effort. He is doing good work in the paint in offensively and fighting hard for position on defense and on the boards. Just not a rim-protector.

I think Kevin Durant is the best player in International Basketball.

A ferocious scorer. No opposing team can matchup against him effectively.

Lithuania has only won once... haha better than Dream Team my butt!!! They are so cocky, it's sad I can't cheer for our team... it hurts, but I hate them cocky fools so much!! I love Coach K (like KD too), but I can't with this team, I just can't. I had to stop myself from hoping Lithuania won... I was literally thinking. 'go go go' every time they had the ball at the end (I only tuned in with 4mins to go)...
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Lol hard for me to root for a Kobe and lebron led team also. Still got to remember it's bigger then that.
