I don't care as long as the Lakers don't get him.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I'd be kind of surprised if we don't end up with one of Haywood/Scola. Need is great and we've got a little room yet.

We don't have cap room.  We have room under the luxury tax, but we don't have cap room.  As long as a single team places a bid on each of Elton Brand, Brendan Haywood, and Luis Scola, we won't get any of them.

I think you'll end up being kind of surprised, sorry.

I thought with all the signings and salary holds we were over the cap and couldn't bid on amnesty players, though maybe this might come down to the timing of all the signings and who the C's dump after the Summer League.

I could see Haywood ending up here. I'd be surprised if we ended up with Scola though he would be a great piece to this roster (could we even afford him?)

Yeah, a team like Charlotte has to put in at least a $1 million per season bid on each, right?

You are my ants a picnic. I thought we has the money for at least one minimum bid.

The agents might threaten hellfire and [dang]ation.

A year sentence in Charlotte for an aging vet on maybe his last high-level year would be a bitter pill.

Houston has decided to use the amnesty provision on Luis Scola and will likely file with NBA on Friday, league sources tell Y! Sports.

The Mavericks will be aggressive bidders for Scola on the amnesty wire, league sources said. Dallas is serious about Elton Brand too.

Wow.  They better get Howard or this is gonna look awful for them.

EDIT:  Looks like they won't do it until they've definitely got him.  But it's still public knowledge either way.

Question - when can a player picked up off the waiver wire be traded?  There's no chance of a claim-and-trade move, is there?
