I'd be for it - he played pretty well in the playoffs for the Clips last season.

Can he be signed & traded though? I'm pretty sure he forfeited his birdrights in the WSH/LAC trade.
My issue is that he was pretty awful during the regular season.

Sub par regular season, "flipped the switch" for the postseason - he should fit right in, no?

27 years old, 6'7" - not afraid to take big shots. Whats the issue bringing him in to play behind Rondo/Bradley/JET?

A talent and skillset like Young needs to start next to Rondo
Despite Bradley's resurgence last season, I still don't see him as a starting 2 next to Rondo that will ever avg 20+ppg.
Nick Young could. Pierce needs to step down as the go-to-guy on offense. And Rondo hates it. He seems to prefer to draw the defense to Harlem Globetrotter pass it to the corner for a spectacular 3.

Bradley could excel next to Jet as a lead defender and spot starter in certain situations.

Plus I'd rather us get something in return for Ray other than a roster spot for another post-prime undersized guard.

Excellent point. I really like Nick Young for this C's team. If they could get him to replace Ray in a S&T, I would be OK with resigning Bass and some of the bench players from last year to start the season. If they can find a way to upgrade the 4 or 5 spot at the trade deadline, then they can go for it.

Even the most adamant Ray fans would have to agree that the Terry and Young combination are an upgrade to Ray at SG

really..who else is out there after ray? not a whole lot left

I rather Pietrus.
No resaon not to get both if we can manage it.

If Ray is leaving us, a sign and trade would at least give us something for his bird rights.

agreed...think they get pietrus back no matter what

If the Celtics have three other SGs and two other SFs, I think he leaves for another team that will give him a bigger role.

Where do I sign? Give me Nick any day of the week. Kid is a scorer AND he's still young (literally).  ;D

I think I'd much rather go after Jodie Meeks (for less money) than Nick Young

  • Let's Go Celtics!

Actually this is starting to make sense - Clips use their MLE to sign Jamal Crawford as 6th man. Then they sign & trade Nick Young (which it seems they can do for a little more than he made last season) for Ray Allen as their starting 2 guard.

Potential Lineup:

PG: Chris Paul
SG: Ray Allen
SF: Caron Butler
PF: Blake Griffin
C: DeAndre Jordan

Bench: Jamal Crawford, Lamar Odom, Eric Bledsoe

It's got potential.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

The only thing that concerns me about the last piece of news is that it was reported by Sam Amico. This guy is never right

So, Ray Allen would be the 5th guard for them, along with CP3, Billups, Bledsoe, and Crawford?

I would much prefer Crawford to Young, via a three-team S&T scenario with the Blazers.

Sign me in.

I believe this kid will be straightened up in Boston. And we could use his scoring.

But that means, no Ray? :(

that is the second best looking rotation in the west...good depth...has all types of scoring

I think Billups is plan B for the heat if they don't get ray...clippers don't want him back

Seriously? People actually WANT Nick Young?

I sincerely doubt anyone who wants him has ever seen him play. He is absolutely terrible. He can't defend, rebound, pass, or play off the ball. His greatest skill is shooting, BUT HE ISN'T EVEN A GOOD SCORER. Look at his shooting splits! He is an inefficient chucker, who can't do ANYTHING else, and all of his advanced metrics are in the gutter. Why on earth would you want this kid?

I mean, people are actually saying this kid has talent? No. He doesn't. He sucks. I live in DC and have seen him play A LOT. His ceiling is a poor man's Nate Robinson. We can do MUCH better.
