"Ray Allen meeting with Heat and Clippers. Celtics said to be strongly considering free agent Nick Young as potential replacement"

What are your thoughts? I somewhat found this kid to be immature from afar. Nothing the Celtics vets and coaches can't tame though...

It would depend on his contract.

If Ray Allen is gone to the Clippers a double sign and trade for him at reasonable money would be a good outcome compared to losing him for nothing.

He is definitely immature and a pretty one dimensional player, but he'd be a better SG option than veteran minimum guy.

I wouldnt mind getting chauncey billups in S&T from Cliips if we need to replace Allen. we will finally have a true back-up point guard.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
god no, can we take odom instead?
or Reggie Evans? Nick Young is horrible. If we must have nick young they better throw in evans.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

For fair value I'm lukewarm. Like I said before, youth and scoring. 2 things we desperately need.

For cheap? Well...yes please!

I just looked at his stats from this past year, ugly!

Yeah I'd be okay with it, but not at the price he'd have to be slotted at to match Ray Allen's salary.

Can we sign and trade Ray for a trade exception instead?  Nick Young, blech.

I'd be OK with this move as a backup plan.

There's no place to be immature on this team.  He will be dealt with if he doesn't fall in line.  He just strikes me as a kid that was caught up in a bad atmosphere in WAS.

18mpg in the playoffs with the Clips, shot 51% from 3, 89% from the line.  Young/Terry are good foils to Rondo/Bradley if ray takes off.

Yea I think that's great, although I don't know about his health yet and we he can play.

Certainly Kevin Garnett will like playing with his buddy Chaunsey

I'd like this move... Ray gone, Jason Terry (good veteran sobstitute) and nick young in. I think is a pipe dream anyway.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
I'd be for it - he played pretty well in the playoffs for the Clips last season.

Can he be signed & traded though? I'm pretty sure he forfeited his birdrights in the WSH/LAC trade.
