What do you guys think about this:

Sign & Trade

Celtics: Beasley + Randolph

T-Wolves: Bass + Stiemsma + pick?

Would Minnesota, seemingly interested in Stiemsma, bite?
It would secure us a solid and athletic PF to pair with Garnett.

I'd happily trade Bass and Stiemsma for Beasley.

I'd rather not take back Randolph (who I still like very much but do not believe he'd develop here due to a lack of playing time, touches and shot attempts).

I'd be surprised if Minnesota has any interest in Bass though with Kevin Love and Derrick Williams there. I don't think this trade has any chance so long as both of those guys are on Minny's roster.

Allegedly, Beas is gonna sign with Phoenix.

I would prob be on board for Steimsma for Randolph though.

If Nash stayed in Phoenix, Beasley would've been my top target. Along with someone like Courtney Lee (poor man's Raja Bell) to start at the two. Bring back Grant Hill to backup the three. Re-sign Aaron Brooks to be the main gunner off the bench. Add a low-priced backup two. Short term deal for Robin Lopez.

PG: Steve Nash, Aaron Brooks
SG: Courtney Lee, (DeShawn Stevenson)
SF: Jared Dudley, Grant Hill
PF: Michael Beasley, Channing Frye, Markieff Morris
C:  Marcin Gortat, Robin Lopez

I would've liked to have seen that squad.

But really, how come no one is talking about Anthony Randolph? Legit 6'10" height, has shown promising flashes. Still relatively young (turns 23 later this month - 6 months younger than JJJ). Can't be terribly expensive. Why not take a flyer?

I think we need to give them Ray. They're trying to contend.

I'd accept a Randolph for Steamer trade if the money works and the Timberwolves are going to offer Steamer more money than the Cs are willing to give out.

The money would work, and I'd have Randolph over Stiemsma all day.

remember if greg gets say 3 million from sota a year, then he becomes a byc player that is when trading him only half of his salary will count for salary matching purposes

That is if greg gets 3 mill from sota then the max boston could offer randolph would be 3*0.5 =1.5mill*150%+100k = 2.35 mill.

randolph will need to accept a deal starting at 2.35 mill.

Meh, that's a .500 team.  But I couldn't see them doing too much better than that considering their assets and cap situation.

Since Minny is my local team I get to watch a lot of Wolves fans, and I just don't see Beasley getting minutes over the players we already have on the roster.

If we could get both these guys, re-sign Allen, and somehow get KG to play center, then I think we could make the case as deepest team in the league.. With Beasley now accepting an offer for 6 mil for 3 years, anything beyond that for Jeff Green would be overpaying.

I'm salivating at this roster..
PG: Rondo/Terry
SG: Bradley/Allen
SF: Pierce/Green
PF: Beasley/Randolph/Sullinger
C: KG/Melo

If we want a skinny, ultra athletic, floor running four, I say we work on developing JaJuan Johnson instead.

Anthony Randolph has wayyy more upside than JJJ, imo.
