It would allow Philly to amnesty Brand and land a starting PF in Bass.  Philly has Moultrie but he's a rookie, and they are for all intents and purposes still a playoff contention team. Aside from Brand and Moultrie they have no one else at the 4.

Hawes really impressed me in our series against the 76ers. He's young, has room to grow and is a legit center.

Philly is actually pretty deep at the 4, they just locked up Lavoy Allen for a few more years and I know they love that kid. Without Hawes, they don't really have anyone outside of Vucevic. I'd be surprised if they let him go.

During the series vs Philly, all I got was groans from Sixers fans and snickers from Celtics fans when he played.
I moved the cheese.

No -- Hawes is a lot more valuable.

It seems like a question of whether or not the 76ers can afford to bring back Hawes.  If they can't then it would be in their best interest to do an S&T.

I was really impressed with his performance in the series. His rebounding isn't that great, but he really hit some great shots when given room.

I don't understand the Spencer Hawes love...he seems like a great candidate to get a regrettable contract this offseason...

This. Hawes will get at least 10 million a year, if not more. Bass will not come close to that, thus a sign and trade with Bass doesn't work.

Me neither.. really dont like him that much. Always has health issues. If Brand gets the ax in Philly, I wouldnt mind the C's getting him.

I think they'll both get about 7/8 mil and that they're salaries will match-up pretty well.  7/8 for a legit center like Hawes who is only 24 is a freaking steal.

Which is exactly why Hawes is not signing for 7-8 million. He will get 10-12 million.

He just re-signed with Philly for 2 yrs at 6.5M per.

Wow. Terrific deal for Philly in this market for centers, on both years and dollars.
