I have faith in the guys tonight. Go out there and play your heart out. Keep the game simple. Play smart. Be aggressive.

Hope to see you guys in the next round.

Lovin' the spirit of the game thread tonight.

Hope we can keep the energy positive even if we start out slow.

Go C's!

Am I being pessimistic to think this is the Sixers night? I love the Celtics, I know nobody who is a bigger fan than me (though I am sure most of you would argue that point ;-))

I am going into this game tonight somewhat sad because I really believe this may be the final game of one of the greatest groups the Celtics have ever had (I speak of Pierce with Garnett and Allen and Rondo). While Allen is not having much success, I cannot forget how clutch he was in years past. Pierce is truly our captain and we live or die with him. Rondo can be the best [dang]ed point guard on the planet sometimes and KG is just...KG. I love these guys.

As a Celtics fan, I am aware I am supposed to dislike the 76ers, but I never have been able to. Our rivalry with them - to me - has always been enjoyable but never "nasty" like it is for me with the Lakers (or more recently the Heat). I do not want the Sixers to win, but if they do I will be very happy for them.

Perhaps this is just nerves and pessimism I don't know, but I really cannot come up with a scenario in my head where the Celtics pull this off tonight. It almost seems like this team needs to go out with a whimper, somehow that almost seems correct.

Don't get me wrong - I will be rooting for them all night and will be optimistic when the game begins because I know - as we all do - that when the Celtics play their game, *nobody* can beat them. But I think we may have a lot more heart on this team with not quite enough wind left in the sails.

I will be the happiest guy in the room if I am proven wrong.

GO CELTICS!

  • You say when......
i know i am going to ruffle some feathers with this...but i would fire doc if we lose this series....injuries aside...he did no special coaching via rotations to try anything....it would be different if it was 2 20 minute halfs...but he has 4 20 minutes q's.......plenty of time to try others when the OLD faithful ain't working....stay with the same formulas...well, you see where that got us......pp, ray.....when they were flat, 2 games so far..it was obvious to a non hoop player.....a seasoned coach......md and sasha sitting there..he froze......and it didn't work.....so he better get a win tonight.....

I agree. He's got to have a short leash tonight. Find a hot hand and stay with it. If Ray does not have it, try Sasha. If Bass does not have it, try Williams.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Celtics had one of those great games where they blew the opponent right out of the water. Blow-out victory.

Lez go C's.

Seriously. Let's wrap this up. Need to hit them early, and keep hitting them until there's nothing left. Win at least 3 quarters by double digits.
