Did anyone see the tech he just gave the Clippers in this game against the Grizzlies? All Blake Griffin and Reggie Evans did was give eachother a five after the two of them connected well on a fastbreak play that led to Reggie getting foul shots.

A Grizzlies player just happened to be bending down and they simply high fived in a non-eventful way over the guy's back as he did. Marc Davis gave Reggie Evans a tech for that...

Something has got to be done about this guy. I don't really care who wins between these two teams, but my goodness, that's a terrible, terrible call. It actually helped partially stall the Clippers' momentum. Neither Van Gundy or the other announcer for the game could even tell what the heck the tech was for.

Talk about being on a power trip. This is a very high profile series now, because of how exciting it has been so far, and he wants to leave his mark on the game, it seems.

Saw it, didn't get it either. I assumed it was for something he did *before* that and they didn't want to stop play.

Might be better to say: 'Marc Davis NBA referee, extremely inept'

Just blew a key jump ball call in Memphis' favor.  TA wasn't even trying to call timeout.

He was besides the Memphis bench, the coach can call the timeout.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
This ref has to be gone. He'll eventually change a series on his own if he continues to call games. No wonder Rondo gave him a chest bump.

I think inept rather than corrupt.  I saw a replay of the tech and I think the official though Evans hit the Grizzlies player in the head reaching for the high five.  Whomever that is for the Grizzlies ducked to grab the ball just as the high five happened.

I think the ref misinterpreted the motion and though it was a cheap shot "accidental" elbow.

the high five was a taunt. player under them.

It was nothing close to a taunt, stop. The Memphis player didn't even see it. The Memphis player was so low, it couldn't have even remotely been seen as trying to rub anything in a player's face.

It was a bad and very dirty call, period. It wasn't the only bad call by that guy, either. There were quite a few others, too. This guy is just plain corrupt. It's blatantly obvious. There was even a bad call that he made in the 3rd, which basically forced one of the other refs to call a little pitty pat offensive call on the Grizz in order to reverse the ball back the other way. They other refs were trying to check the guy, but he was being very bold with some of his calls. He's one of those refs looking to get his name and face out there. It's obvious.

It was in the heat of the moment. They didn't go out of their way to do it over the Grizzlies player. You see this kinda high five happen all the time, but they never call a tech for it. This is like KG getting a tech for high fiving after drawing a foul for a shot that didn't go in, but he's headed to the line. That's exactly what it was. Very innocent.

I'm thinking ineptitude over corruption, as well.  Marc Davis is just one of the worst officials out there.  We've seen it up close and personal with our Celtics.

I doubt it's a Tim Donaghy type thing with this guy.  I just think he's bad.
