I don't know if the Celtics should deal with Denver after the highway robbery they performed on the Knicks last season.

By that standard the C's wouldn't have the opportunity to trade for Dwight Howard either.   ;)

Agreed. Masaii Ujirri is one heck of an upcoming GM, and he came out smelling like roses after that trade. But i think this is precisely the type of guy Danny fleeces, he's young, cocky, and successful. Danny will have a nice sales pitch. I have a ton of faith in Ainge.

I'm a big fan of Mozgov's potential. Needs a lot of work though.

Good mobility combined with very good size. Willing (but unschooled) defender. A subpar rebounder. A good finisher around the paint that has a midrange jump-shot.

If you can improve his defensive fundamentals, he could be a solid starting center in this league. He is raw though and needs work. Project.

Call OKC and see if Presti wants to admit he screwed up dealing for Perkins.

Make him an offer for Ibaka. He's not going to be able to keep both of them.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

I thought we already had a Top 5 Center (KG)?

Why not just go after a long PF?

Keep KG at center...I mean, do we REALLY want a 36-37 year-old KG chasing Bosh, Boozer around?

He's better at Center at this point in his career, that's why IMO the perfect Center for us is KG.

I forgot about Sean Williams in my post before.

So, yeah, Sean Williams. He'd require the same amount of investment as either of the players you mentioned and he'd have been with us for 1 playoff.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
No to Mozgov, yes to Koufos.

I've been saying it for long. Koufos can give you solid production for about 20 minutes a game. He's 23 so still pretty young and there is a little more room to grow there. The dude REBOUNDS. He's averaging 5 boards on 12 minutes in this series, that's against Bynum and Gasol.

Now i'm not saying he's the Center of the future, nor Im saying he's a star. But the kid can be a solid backup or maybe a starter for how much, maybe a couple of 2nd round picks, cash and a few players. He can also play back to basket and can finish in the paint with hook shots. ALthough yes I admit he's not as mobile and as defensive minded, but it'll come in the Celtics system.

As long as we don't trade our stars, bass and avery for him. Heck, I will make the case that I will be willing to to trade our later 1st and a future second for him and Denver's second. Call me crazy but were trying to get a project big in the draft right, he could be it. 23 years old, and has experience in the NBA and overseas. He's not potentially great, but he can fit.

Speaking of projects. WHat's the deal with Cole Aldrich? He could be a nice project. But get Koufos, again but not at the expense of the stars, Bass or Bradley.

We already have a back up center. We need a starter.

Spencer Hawes would fit with Rondo but the Celtics would need to get low post threat at PF.

Al Jefferson. Once SAS finishes sweeping the Jazz tonight, they'll be out.

A FRP and the trade exception might even be enough. Maybe 2 firsts.

I LOVE Hawes, and am disappointed that he is having such a great playoffs, because I think he is pricing himself out of the C's (if he wasn't already).

I think Hawes is the classic case of a late blooming big man, who needed to grow into his body before he could take full advantage of his exceptional skills for a big man.

Unfortunately, I think he is going to be VERY expensive, and he also has an injury history that makes the kind of investment it would take to sign him (the bottom of his market is probably 4 years/$50 million...and rising) a lot more risky.

But I really do think Hawes will be a top 5 center for years to come, if he can stay on the court.

Also, I will add that Hawes is moving further into the post each year.  He has always had exceptional footwork and touch down there, but has lacked the strength to bang.  Now that he is growing into his body, he will be spending more time in the post.
