The 2 Celtic wins in April showed how a good team can turn down the Heat.

Going into the playoffs, MIA has no bench scoring to speak of, an undersized front court, no team offense (2 years in and Wade/Libby are still taking turns), and no proof that Bron can rise up when the chips are down.  DW/LB have to be volume scorers to win. They can do that in the regular season, shred teams, but not deep in the playoffs, where the pace slows down and the level of of play goes up.   Boston, Chi, & Indiana have varying abilities to put the air brakes on. Before yesterday, would have said NY as well.

What bothers me is the CHeaters think they are anointed ones, and maybe they are by Stern and his cronies.

The  Cheater faithful are dreaming if they thinking , the Celtics, Bulls, Thunder ,or LAkers will just lie down for King LeBrick/Stern.

Le Brick needs to go to acting school or visit the WWF to learn to fake pain.

Ummm did you watch the Heat last year in the playoffs?
They contradicted much of what you've stated. In fact almost all of it. Lebron crushed everyone until the finals. But he played 3 playoff series before that.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

We can beat the Heat - IF we

1. Shoot over 50%
2. Limit turnovers
3. Pound the boards
4. Have Ray

Maybe they will beat themselves like they usually do in the playoffs.

didnt we say that last year?? and look what happened in the finals.

the biggest thing IMO is that we are in the Heats heads...they tried as HARD as they could that 2nd game in april against them...and we beat them. handily...this is a mentally weak team, and that could play into a series against them.

dont look to what happened last year. if we can remain relatively healthy we are a better team/matchup better with them

They have no answer for KG/rondo...and bradley has been able to limit wade defensively. its going to be on lebron

#4 is not happening. Even if Ray plays he will not be very useful until he has surgery. We have to get Bradley and Pietrus to step up.

I don't know how Bradley or any other player can limit Wade defensively, especially when he settles into his groove. He is practically a player that can play 1-on-5 (although you have got to say this is hardly efficient at all), so, I can't see him getting bothered by Bradley that much.
It's like Artest on James. When the player brings his best, no matter what kind of defense you play, you're really at a tough situation.
But Wade has been bothered by injuries this season, so, he may not be 100% coming into the play-offs, after all.

time will tell, I'm not ready to say Ray won't
be a factor deep in the playoffs.

You know, I would have been ready to buy into some fairly solid basketball arguments that the Celtics match up well with the Heat.

Then ... I watched the Thunder-Dallas game and I was reminded - again - through Uncle Fester, Joey Crawford, of how hard the NBA will work to, shall we say, preserve the matchups it truly desires.

So, I'm inclined to agree with the OP: Someone may beat the Heat, but you won't win.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Unfortunately it's not a question of time. The bone spurs will not get better with time, they will get worse. It is what it is, he won't get better until he gets surgery.

that's true, they won't get better without
grinding them down.. however they did not grow
in the last 3 weeks either. So Ray was playing
with bone spurs all season. He can certainly
play with them again in limited time role
during the playoffs. They just don't want to
waste him on the Hawks.

I recall the KNICKS having their role players drain 30 even 35 footers against us just a few weeks ago.

Does this mean they are unbeatable too?

Common, this is a nonsense post.

There role players have nothing to do with it, It's the playoffs
slow down WADE or LEBRON & you can beat them.

Looks like a lot of people missed the original post stating that "IF" the heat get those kind of calls no one will beat them.

Does anyone really think that with the way they were officiated yesterday that anyone can compete?

Lebron and Wade are extremely tough to defend on their own but if refs won't let you guard them either without it being a foul than teams will be in trouble.

Lebron and Wade looked better and better the more calls they were getting yesterday because the Knicks weren't allowed to play defense on them. The Knicks basically laid off them completely or else the entire team was going to foul out.
