if they get the calls they got today.

Absolutely no way you can defend them and then their role players get comfortable and confident and start draining 30 footers.

LeBron and Wade are too good. They don't need to get favorable calls.

Considering the only team that really had a shot just lost there best player, I'd say this is true

I think they can be beaten.  I'm hoping we get the chance.

The Heat will not be comfortable when they play us.

I can think of, at least, two other teams that can.

Didn't I see this same thread last year?

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

Celtics and Cavs?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
This is awesome for us. We have a very serious shot at making the big dance now.
Give us the Heat in a 7 game series.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

If they get 30 free throws on touch fouls and flops no team is going to be able to stop them.

They can be beaten.  The refs shouldn't have anything to do with it.  Personally, I think the refs have a tendency to react to the flow of the game.  Once you start to get frustrated, like the Knicks clearly did in this one, things start going against you, including the whistles.

The refs helped, but the Knicks completely unraveled, too.  That was the bigger factor in the blowout.

I'm not in the camp that believes that the NBA is akin to pro wrestling.  Maybe I'm being naive.  I think the refereeing can be lousy at times, but I also think that good teams can rise above the calls and turn the tide of the way a game is being officiated by their play.

The Heat can be beaten by a good, veteran, smart basketball who knows how to get into their heads as opposed to the other way around.  I know of at least one such team.

Couldn't the same have been said about the Knicks, when we played them and JR Smith and Novak went nuts?

Anything's possible in Mr. Stern's NBA. He still thinks it's 1993 and it's all about high-top fades and "Y'All Ready for This" Toyota commercials.

The Celtics can beat the Heat, the key is avoiding turnovers at all cost. The Heat's defense can't stop the cutting of Boston, and the Heats HALFCOURT offense can't score. If Boston doesn't throw cross court passes, or dive to save balls out of bounds they can win the series... but It'd still go to 7.
