I don't know, if his knee's an accident waiting to happen it was going to happen sooner or later, garbage time or no garbage time.

Too bad though, he's probably my favorite non-Celtic superstar.

He's out there because this wonderful team game has been corrupted by David Stern's marketing machine into an individualistic mess where fans obsess over meaningless nonsense like triple-doubles.

Now, the Bulls might be about to pay the ultimate price for the corruption of this game.

I don't ever pull for an injury, but it would be good for the pro game if the outcome of these playoffs was significantly changed by an individual statistics-driven injury like this.

Very good.
Laying on the hyperbole a little thick today?

Apples, meet oranges.

I guess I missed where Bird suffered a serious injury in that game.

Rose had NO business in the game. The triple-double is the most meaningless, overrated contrived statistic in sports.

If we're lucky, maybe someone will finally figure out that a triple-double and a dime won't get you in a pay toilet.

I absolutely HATE what NBA marketing has done to this game.
What is different about Bird playing at least 8 minutes of basketball in a 25 point game in the fourth quarter and what Rose did in finishing out the game?

Can you tell me how its different other than Bird avoided injury? Both were playing in blow out games that were over.

I can easily pull more games like this, players want to play and coaches have kept them in during blowouts for longer than Stern has run the NBA.

It's easy to jump on Thibs for not pulling him earlier and he probably should've. But given Rose's injury history and style of play, it's the kind of thing that could've happened in the next game. You just can't predict this kind of stuff.

Completely agree.

He's had ankle, groin, and other lower body issues all year. Similar to Leon's knee injury it may have just been a cumulative issue from his body being out of balance and over stressed.

Wow ... Celtics chances of winning the East suddenly look much better.

This sucks. I wish him a full and speedy recovery.

On the brighter side, we now have no reason to not be in the ECFs.

Yeah. Honestly feel awful for Rose right now, even though it helps the C's a ton.

This is good for the Celtics/Hawks/possibly even the Sixers... but for basketball fans, awful.

Get well soon.

I will say unabashedly that I love this injury!  It is about time injuries screwed someone else. Let's call it payback for the past 4 years.

Huge blow to Bulls fans, especially given the circumstances (last minute of comfortable win).

Our side of  the bracket is looking a little more manageable at least until we get to the Heat.

I do not.  I will not delight in the misery of a fellow human being.
