I think nearly everyone is on board with the idea, I just don't see why he comes here.  It only makes sense to bring him here if you want to try to compete for a title.  To do that, we definitely need KG back and we need some, if not all, of Jeff Green, Brandon Bass, Mikael Pietrus, and Ray Allen.  If we want to bring at least some of them back, we're not going to be able to offer Duncan an exorbitant amount of money.

If we aren't going to offer him a ton of money what's really the allure of coming here?  San Antonio is still very good, so it's not like he's playing in a bad place.  And if he really wanted to jump ship to a better team, why not just go to OKC or Miami?

So, if Danny could somehow swing it, I'd love it.  Bringing everyone back and adding Duncan could lead to a title.  But I don't see it happening.

experience win championships

Not really.   You need stars too.   Playing together helps and it never hurts to have the best players.  While I think experience is a factor I think of the great Utah Jazz teams who had experience and didn't win jack.

At some point old guys get too old to win and unreliable.

Yes, great Jazz teams that came up against Michael Jordan.

I think they don't like the idea basically because Tim and KG frontcourt is unlikely to happen financial-wise.
Other than that, I don't think anyone will come out and say Bass & KG duo is better than a potential KG & Tim duo.

I would freakin love to see Garnett and Duncan start together in boston with bass playing big time minutes off the bench to give them each rests. Oh my goodness is that the worlds greatest pipe dream for me.

Agreed, it's better for the NBA.  If he were to leave the Spurs though I don't see why people would be opposed to him coming here.  He's a top 15 center in the league at this point, he would help.
do it
