Just read this on ESPN...Absurd. How does one guy who averages 7.6 points a game put up 69 shots in one game, 59 of them being 3 pointers? I can't even imagine doing that in a game...

a lot of bricking :), but then again he did make 32 threes, which is insane...

though I seriously doubt the competition for the Asian Fiba Games, pro or no pro, I doubt there's actually much talent in those leagues

It was in the Lebanese national league, which is probably the best in Asia, and they never have scores like that, usually.
The special circumstances for this game were, as far as I have gathered from comments on FIBAs facebook page, as follows:

The opposing team is in financial troubles (probably going bankrupt) and will be thrown out of the league. The team decided to throw this game by using only bench players and not play any real defense. Soon Akarri just stood on the front court catching passes and shooting. His coach kept him in for the entire game, probably to let him have this record.

Lebanon has a very good national team, and has qualified for the FIBA World Cup for the last three tournaments. Akarri has never been called up.
